I Love my Condor!
I’ve managed (after lots and lots of pumping as I don’t have a dive cylinder) to get my Condor as finely tuned as I think I possibly could.
I’m shooting CPH 14,3gr (5mm) and my goal was to get it running at 1050fps. Accuracy is 1″ at 55yrds so I’m happy with the total setup.
The chrony string is as follows:
2200psi fill. PW 13-3 Tophat was an educated thumb suck, will measure when I get home next week.

Finishing pressure is 1700 psi.
Does this sound right?
Another chrony string I did before this with completely different settings went as follows:
2800 psi fill, PW 14-4
1. 1671
2. 1645
3. 1495
4. 1696
5. ERROR
6. 1144
7. 1140
8. 1146
…and so it went on, what puzzles me is the first 4 readings of super high velocities. I’ve never heard of a Condor or any other pcp pushing a 14gr pellet at those velocities.
Any input on that would be appreciated.
Is it possible to get more usable shots at the current settings or does this sound right?

Re. the chrony, the muzzle was about 15cm from it. I chronied about 150 shots all from the same position but I suspect the same. 1600+fps is a bit heavy.
I cleaned the barrel today, it was filthy. Groupings done earlier in the morning were very good. I’ll drop the velocity later tonight and see what it does tomorrow.
Just something else, I’ve switched from CPH to Webley Pel-exactly the same pellet re. weight and shape, but the lead seems much softer than CPH-would that cause more fowling of the barrel?

2 things, back the muzzle away from the chronygraph. 1600+FPS is your chrony picking up the blast. how far are you away from the chrony? Next thing is too drop the speed lower as mentioned above. Its honestly hard to state an exact speed for your particular barrel so you are gonna have to start down low and work your speed up slowly till you find the tightest group possible

Thanx RR, I’m going to drop the velocity to 970fps and do some tests. Accuracy is the most imporant part of my setup. Will let you know how it went.

I would say your still about 70 or so fps too fast for CPs. Those are a hard lead, and tend to leave lead in the barrel if shot that fast. Your group size would probably be a lot smaller at around 970fps, give or take 10.
If your happy with it as is, great!. But Ill tell you, you can do better. 😉

15cm is 6″ and that is EXTREMELY TOO CLOSE TO THE CHRONY 😯 . 6-10 feet is best for accurate and consistent readings.
Those fast speeds will also cause the pure lead pellets to smear inside the bore of the barrel. Hence the fouled bore.
