I’m considering a Talon in .25….
I’ve been trying to decide on a Sumatra carbine or Talon in .25 for quite a while now. Both guns have there pros and cons but I’m leaning more towards the Talon. I’d definitely want a Condor valve and shroud. I’d like to shoot solid bullets out of it, I’m looking for high power with great accuracy. I have a some questions though. Is the one piece top hat needed or worth it? What about regulators? These guns are known to be hold sensitive so how can I cure that?

I had a .25 Talon SS, 14″ LW barrel, 12″ shroud, Extreme valve and used Jerry’s 6 rings slugs. It was frighteningly powerful. About the same as a rifle and that’s a fact. It was short, quiet, light, drove tacks, and I could find no fault with it.

this is my .22 condor with 12″ barrel with inturnal baffels to keep it quite i live no more then 10 yards from my neighbors and shoot squrrils all day and they would call the cops in a heart beat but they never know
and here are my homemade baffels
lol, buy a condor and another 14″ .25 then you have the power hog condor and can have you short barrel with shroud to keep it quite and no broomstick thats just my 2 cents then you dont need to upgrade your valve and all that crap till you want even more

You’re going to have to talk with Tony at TalonTunes or someone else here on the forum that has experience with solid bullets.
I have a .25 cal Condor using a Talon SS frame. Tony at TalonTunes built and tuned it for me. He recommended a 14″ barrel because I wanted it quiet and didn’t want a broomstick either. It has a Hi-flo valve, one of Tony’s one-piece top-hats, and a 9″ LDC. The Talon SS frame will allow you up to 16″ barrel without it sticking out of the end of the frame. It also gives you more volume than the Talon frame for sound deadening. I think a Talon frame would probably require a longer LDC and would look a little funny for a Condor because the longer LDC (no completely sure of this last statement, Tony would have to answer that)
It shoots JSB 25.4 pellets at 930 FPS on 6.6 on the power wheel which is probably faster than I should be pushing them.

Ok that’s fine. Talon frame is 15.25″ and a Condor is 19.625″. It’s just a 24″ barrel sticks out a long way past the end of the frame. You said power so I was thinking 24″ barrel.
I was thinking a talon since it already had the 18″ barrel.

My Talon SS .25 was putting out roughly 70 fpe with 6 rings from Jerry. It could do more, but I dialed it back because they began ricocheting off the local hardwoods. I could tell by the “whine” they were re-routed quite a distance. Too dangerous this close to Arkansas residents who lived nearby. Even a double-wide has thin walls! If I hit a local in the tooth they would starve!
