I´m in love with my WST again !
I´ve been fixing and tinkering with my Cricket WST .25 lately, more than shooting it. Imppu & Hannu from Websales in Finland (my trusted Cricket dealer and also the Finnish KalibrGun importer) adjusted and send me an extra regulator, which was set at 130 bar and market 110 b – 150 b in 10 bar increments to ease the future adjustements. I also adjusted the valve 3/4 turn in from “the touch down” as per Ernest. I changed every single OEM Russian o-ring to better quality stuff (Ernest Express) and Imppu also send me one of his newest HST adjusters (shorter threaded plastic part and much longer spring guide) and that also went in with Dr. Evil´s Delrin HS sleeves. I´ve polished and smoothed out the whole trigger assy and all the parts inside the hammer housing. I also changed springs on the trigger rod untill i found the one i liked best.
Now i have a cocking action that´s buttery smooth and the trigger is Match-issue. Not close, not near but bona fide Match ! :4:
Everything buttoned up i filled the gun and put my rusty , but trusty ,Combro on – with some new parts after the little mishap we had with it and that damned .308 cal Howlitzer – and went for it at my backyard range (+- 35 yards) to check the velocity. Fired the first shot and there was no need to even check the Combro reading to know it was shooting HOT. The backstop is a 1,5″ thick wooden thingie and the pellet blew straight thru it ! 😯 😯 I checked the reading and it said 304 mps. Turned the HST adjuster out untill i got it down to 280 mps where i wanted to be.
Anyway – the next thing i wanted to check was the consistency in velocity so once down at the more humane level at 280 mps, i shot two mags , 24 shots , to check the deviation. Well – the slowest shot was 279.7 mps and the fastes one was 280.4 mps. 14 of the shots was exactly 280.0 mps. With my world class math skills i got the extreme spread to 0.7 mps (or a hair shy from 2.5 fps for you with that stone age Imperial system) for those 24 shots.
Those 24 pellets (plus one dry shot = 25 shots) used 40 Bar so there is room for improvement but i´m very satisfied with my progress thus far.
All this tells me that the next step is to try the reg at 120 Bar but before i dive into things again i´ll just shoot the thing for a while to find the best velocity for those 25.4 gr JSB´s/FX´s and i´ll also test the H&N Baracuda 31 grainers to see how those behave in my Bug.
Time to get into Airgunning after the Powderburner hiatus again , or so it feels like right now. It sure is FUN !! :4: :4:

If I was manufacturing guns in a small shop and wanted something quick and dirty it would be perfect. 😀

That one looks really good ! I like the way its sensors read the velocity : Always at the same exact point.
