I need a Pump…advice please
OH Masterminds of the Vulcan world….My air supply source has dried up, or perhaps I should say it has aired out…So I’m in the market for a hand pump or compressor…I can’t afford a compressor right now may be a year or so. So I’m hoping for access to your brilliance regarding hands pumps. What say you regarding bang for the buck when considering pump performance, longevity and easy maintenance? :4:

I pump to 250 bar using a Hill Mark 4. Takes just under two pump strokes/pellet fired on my 22 Vulcan.
I do it in sets of 25 strokes. About one set / magazine fired.
No problem getting up to 250 bar, just take your time and let yourself rest between sets and
allow the pump to cool. It’s a good time to reload a magazine and clean up the work room
between each set.

I use the fx pump and pump to 220bar with ease, if there is one thing FX does right it’s the pump. But I’m sure the hill pump is fine too
Get a Hill pump and you might want to add a Diablo filter on the output side. Alabama gets mighty humid and the desiccant beads in the Hill are not enough. The extra drying of the Diablo will help, though it will take a bit more pumping to fill the filter chamber. Add $170-185 to the pump cost for the extra filter.
For bullpups, hand pumping is not a big deal, did it for years. Usually, a top off takes 3-5 minutes at relaxed speed.
Wow Greg what a beautiful pup set :smilen: I have one MKII version without problems. I can recommend Hill.
When I got my Omega SC I got rid of all but one Hand pump in case the compressor failed.
It’s the Hill MK3, not sure about the new MK4 if they fix all the problems it had on its debut ?
