So yesterday I catch a break in the weather and shoot my online benchrest thing.Targets below 
. Well what does my genius ass do after shooting a perfect score ? I tear the gun apart and break the piston ring ….FUCKKKKKK ME !!!!! 
. somebody take my tools away from me like you would a retarded stepkid !!!!

Are you using the Caldwell rest in the pic for those groups?
OK got my Baby back to good as new . The new oring also gave it a boost in speed 
Got the new ring on and put her all ba k together . I tried different lubes this time . Put red and tacky on spring and spring quides only , moly on piston and sledge rails , and silicone grease on handle pivot and everywhere else . Compression was definitely higher with the new oring . Maybe it’ll transfer into more speed .
I honestly am not worried about her being slow , but a little extra fps would hell with the wind . Keppibg my fingers crossed ‘)
I did the exact same thing on my FWB300 when I tore into it years ago. I forget where I obtained another ring, but like you… I went into panic mode quickly.
Them springs do not last forever,
When mine broke on my FWB 124 I was told they just get brittle and break,,,
Got to break the new one in, Its twang may be a little different,

Luckily Neil at ISS in FtWorth had some in stock for clummsy fuckers like me . She will be up and shooting again by this weekend ….Yeah a guy emailed me and told me about an oring you can substitute but I’m gonna keep it close to factory , mine shoots way too good to mess it up 🙂 But my next FWB gonna be a HotRod
A friend of mine replaced the steel ring with an o ring. He says the power went up dramatically. I am not sure, but it is probably a high duro number.

Yeah I just got it this week , I really like it !!!! Was using an old Hoppe rest before , it worked but ya had to be really careful or it tended to be top heavy with a gun on it .
This one is rock solid , I’m a bag squeezer so I don’t take advantage of all the micro adjusts shot to shot .. I’m going to my first benchrest shoot in 2 weeks .. Hoping to get a lot of pointers from the guys there . I feel like the FWB 300 may be springer competitive but I’ll have a better idea hopefully in a couple weeks . Right now I’m looking at better scopes but it has to be short to fit my gun .
