If I want to remove the front bushing on the barrel…
Are there any tricks to put it back that can guarantee the proper alignments to the frame? I want to try to put the bushing on my drill press for venting but am concerned how to put it back together. I read a post where a forum member said one could leave the barrel on, but I am afraid that my drill press does not have enough clearance if I leave the barrel on.

Thanks for all the tricks. I’m wondering how they put everything together in the factory. They must have some kind of fixture to simple align things up. Thanks guys.
Theres a small indentation for the bushing set screws to bite into on the barrel. Remove the set screw, sight the threaded bushing hole over the indent and replace and tighten the screw.
So long as you don’t take the rear bushing off, should be easy to get the front one back in alignment. If the rear one fits right, just line up the holes on the front one.
Be aware that the bushing screws that fit to the bottom of the gas tube are a little bit longer than the ones that fit to the side, would be better to get them back into the holes they came out of.
make two marks with a sharpie, one right up to the bushing on the barrel (horizontal), and one running down the the bushing and up the barrel (vertical). reassemble with the the pen parks lining back up perfectly.
WOK, I had enough lessons learned working with those tiny allen screws. I’ll be extremely careful this time. My question is how to properly align the front bushing to the gun frame when putting the bushing back. The two grub screw holes on the bushing must align with the two holes on the frame, no?
Carefully remove the little plastic screw in the PW before taking out your barrel. It strips easily.
Remove the four grub screws and slid your barrel out. Remove the bushing and drill away. Reassemble and insert. Adjust your scope and you are good to go.
