Impact vs Vulcan in .25
Wich One would you choose and why? I’m thinking of getting the Impact just to see what the fuss is all about. Worst case scenario I’ll just sell it. It will be in .25

Cricket , stupid is stupid does . If you do not like the stock on the Vulcan that dose not mean that you can not have a different stock
made for the Vulcan . I hate the stupid looking stock on the Mutant Shorty but that is not going to stop me from buying the .25 cal.
Shorty when they hit the market because if nothing else I will cut and hack the stock to my liking which to me will be better than the
stock that comes with it and I don’t care if anyone else likes it or not it’s not their gun to look at or shoot . :8: :8: :8:

I’m just waiting for them to scrub the thread from their site when/if things cool down. I’m debating if this is just a supply issue with their hardware supplier or worse yet, terrible engineering decision.
Yup, they scrubbed this post I made.
All you have to do is to paint it with Truckbed Lining, or a Rubberized coating, or a flat black Paint :confusedn: :confusedn: :confusedn:
They’ve obviously known about this defect for some time but chose/choose to remain silent with the hopes it wouldn’t make it into the public spotlight. Recall would have been more honorable and potentially profitable, or at least not cost them ill repute.

Cricket , to me sexy looking really holds little value . I prefer performance over looks , to me a pretty looking gun is totally useless .
An ugly gun that performs at 100% is the gun that works for me .

I am not a FX hater, But the impact just has to many problems for a 1,800 to 2,000 dollar gun,, Its just that simple…
Just the words from a tuner that said the Impact is a very complex gun, And with all the problems , Its got me backing up
on a wait and see for a year or two,

some one got shot by Impact pellet probe just reading on AGN, the pellet probe grub screw broke/sheered off
i guess it was loose a bit and misaligned during loading pellet with biathlon lever style, and the next shot ended baaad.
thats why i think the biathlon lever can break cocking rods on vulcan too.
Did you guys see the latest safety issue on the Impact ?
I would think about it very hard before getting one.
I had no clue that the probe set screw had come all the way out. *** CORRECTION!! The pellet probe set screw DID NOT work its way out. Upon further inspection, it is still in the probe block. The set screw sheered off where it makes contact with the pellet probe! My allen key goes clear through it. This means that this could happen again at ANY time! No way, that I can think of, to assure safety from this happening again! (pictures below)*** Which, just to be clear, is absolutely NOT something ANYONE who pays $2K for a supposed high-quality, precision air rifle should have to be concerned with in the first place. I’d shot through one magazine last night and was on the third shot of my second mag. I cocked the rifle as usual and it felt like it always did… smooth as glass as the pellet was pushed into the chamber. I took aim and put my finger on the trigger. But instead of the incredibly quiet shot that I’m used to when I pull the trigger, I got a BANG that was every bit as loud as if I’d popped a round from my wife’s S&W 9mm. I felt a significant amount of air blow past my face and my right ear is STILL ringing from the sound of the blast. This occurred yesterday at about 6:30pm. The pellet probe hit my right shoulder as it was sent FLYING out the back of the rifle due to the set screw having come out, leaving quite a welp. The probe then bounced off the metal door behind me, leaving 2 small dents and small gouges in the paint, and landed about 8 feet in front of me. The probe is now bent and unusable, and the clear plastic side of the magazine is cracked as well.
To say I’m furious that I paid $2000 and waited over 4 months for a rifle, just to have a VERY dangerous malfunction after only 3 weeks of ownership is a fucking understatement. If my wife or son had been directly behind me and struck when this occurred, I would most DEFINITELY be consulting an attorney. And given the situation as it is, I’m not sure that I won’t consult an attorney anyway. This is absolutely unacceptable out of a piece of equipment that’s supposed to be such a high quality and precision instrument. Something had better be done to make this right. Will be calling AOA as soon as they open tomorrow morning.
This situation could’ve been MUCH worse. My wife and 4 year-old son, while not directly behind me, were only about 10 feet to my right and slightly to the rear. My son LOVES to watch me shoot and is often directly behind me or beside me as he does. VERY glad last night wasn’t one of those times…
After realizing that the cause of this very dangerous malfunction was that the set screw sheered off, and having no way to be absolutely certain that this won’t happen again, my confidence in the safe operation of this rifle is pretty much leveled. I am VERY disappointed to put it VERY mildly.
You can’t deny this thing looks sexy, pic credit drumsguns
Fat dude
You made me laugh on that one,,,
I just wonder if the people over on the AGN site can see they are being lead down the FX road, Its the best gun and all the others Are want to be
I try to get people to look over on the TAG site, But have been called down on it a few times. I have been ask not to post the TAG site on the AGN.
I still do it ,
Mike
both have side cocking but impact is butter smooth a/c ernest.
impact -bigger air tank and can switch calibres if you fancy a change – 0.30 will be interesting!
vulcan looks better, more compact, lighter, less problems and if there problems – contact evgeny, but noisy action I keep reading about and of couse that polymer trigger.
depends which forum you’re on – if you on AGN it be the impact of course dumbass! :angrymob:
