Q:

Impressed by Cricket 22

Frist time I have really had a chance to stretch the Cricket 22 out at the Deer Cabin. Set the cans up at 30 yards and 50 yards set by my Simmons range finder a year or so ago…..
Walked out to the first deer feeder I thought was 100 yards out from the bench, Hung a a steel wasp can out ,
Frist My great white is just to dam big to be toting around ,I forgot my range finder and found out latter the wasp can was at 125 yards,
I learned that any wind plays a major factor, The 22 Cricket will bust right through a steel wasp can at 125 yards, I need lots of work with my hold over at that distance.
14 shoots and eight went right through the steel can, I am impressed with the power,
Wish I had taken the 25 to the cabin, But next time,
But like I say the Great white was just to big toting around just even in and out of the jeep.
Very good learning experience for me as I was shooting at distance that I never had before,,,
Next it will be the 25 at my test and tune,
May have to wait until after deer season,
But I will say the 22 Cricket is bad to the bone, I am impressed .

what kind of a 110 Ci tank you got, I been thinking about a smaller tank just to fill from my great white….
I know I just need to buy me a compressor and its on the list, and these cheap small tanks on ebay if you fill them up and they go pow, Is it instant death or just a leg or arm blown off???
Mike

WOW…… you better learn Spanish like Obama said 4 years ago………..

Nice set up there eelect, I bet that cost $

Zonk, Midland and Odessa is over two hundred thousand people , About 38 % white,, This white boy has some very good Mexican friends that joke, We are taking over and we will not even fire a shot.
LOL, When I go to some of the auto parts stores and other stores I have to ask for someone that speaks English.
Mike

I bought a 60 minute tank and put a valve on it and have not used it in a loooooog time. 110 Ci tank will wear you out with 22 cricket.

Looks like a nice range to shoot. I noticed that wasp can is in Spanish. Probably not to many English speaking people down there??

opps wasp can did not post.

This is the 125 yard shot I did with the 22 Cricket, Tank on left is a 50 yard water tank, The ones on the right are 30 yard water tanks, The deer feeder straight down the middle is where I hung the steal wasp can on a long string,

I hear ya Mike. I’m doing a little rat shooting this morning. My buddy poisoned last week and their about all gone… :sadn:

Yea fun with the Toys more like a huge learning experience…
The wind plays a big part in this long distance pellet shooting, (125 yards and more,,, )
Not so much at 30 and 50 yards,,, I really need the 25 when the wind kicked up…
All say is the Cricket has come a long way from the BB guns of my youth….

Sounds like you’ve been having a great time with your new toys. It’s been windy here so no bird shooting lately. :sadn:

I can tell you what you need to know about the 25 Cricket, Know need for all the shipping fuss, and mess.
I am still with the JSB 25.39 grain , Big thump and birds dead, Got some H&N hollow points and some polymags in 25 , Have not even tried them yet In the Cricket.
Body shots on sparrows are best, Feather explosion, With head shots the bird just falls over..
I found a cool way to take the Euro doves down, 22 or 25 , With the bird facing away from you, (head down eating) aim just to skim the back of the bird with the pellet,
Most the time you can see the path up the back where the pellet went, Well the dove will lift his head up to fly and the pellet will take the back of his head off,,,
works every time .

I knew you would be Mike. I also have a Great White and am thinking of getting a guppy to tote around. GW works great going to cattle barn as I just leave it on the seat next to me to fill. Why don’t you ship your .25 to me so I can see how it does on birds…….. 😀
