Q:

in my quest for information about barrels

I came across a shooting blog I’d like to share with everyone: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2014/01/02/best-rifle-barrel/ Some good stuff in there. The search goes on.

don’t forget the finger on the trigger, and the eye on the sight and the brain taking it all in (and calculating when to shoot). I think it’s a synergistic effort to make an accurate shot at a great distance. All parts in harmony. Since I don’t often have such ranges at my disposal I defer to shooters who can speak to the matter with more frequent long-distance shooting experience. Still, can’t know too ,much about the subject. :winkn:

btw, an interesting search might be to see which form of airgun barrel is most accurate at long range, as in MOA @100 yards. I know Yrrah (Harry has done it with an old FX 2000 tpye in .22 which came with an LW barrel. Anyone know of a source for such barrel-comparison information?

There is a lot of info out there, for sure. I’ll keep reading.

Read on knowledge & experience is king. P/B and airgun barrels are different animals though. From my experience hammer forged, LW, CZ, HW and BSA seem to always be at the top of accuracy game in the AG barrel heap and not in that order. Of course there are always exceptions, every now and then an unfamiliar or unexpected manufacturer makes an excellent barrel.
