Q:

in need of some suggestions

ok, heres the dilemma.

due to the length of my new hammer from drum, the PW had to go to keep preload minimal. so now i have an open slot where it used to be and need to close up the frame a bit.

riffraff,

if you see this, do you still come across surplus CF wrap occasionally? i figure that there couldnt be a better material to use than to make a wrapped CF tube. or if you could point me in the direction of a source id be quite grateful…

no camera, just look over on his site and look at the heavyweight hybrids, its no different. he kept the delrin long for support, like you said.

I know what a TT hammer looks like. I’m trying to figure out why Leupy’s hammer is so long. Here is a 100 gr next to a 110 gr.

It turned out to long for max power wheel and I cut it back for max power wheel. Took off .125″ and it ended up 108 gr. 2 reasons to make them longer, more weight and more hammer left on the barrel when it extends over the neck down and hits the breech.

Lets see that Leupy hammer

the spring slides over the extra length, so preload dont change. look on tt website, he got a real nice pic sittin in a pile of kodiaks.

It’s longer because it wouldn’t be heavy enough if it was the same length. Let’s see a pic next to the TT hammer and from the spring end to see how thick the nylon is.

So his hammer is longer. Oops. How much longer is it? Pic?

imagine a brass one. the length between guides is the same as a condor hammer/weight, and theres about an inch more past the rear guide for the spring to centralize on.

Stop looking at it.

I also have some AL tubeing if you want a chunk of it.

How about 1.068 inch? That’s a 27.2mm seat post for most road bikes. I have an old cf seat post and I could cut a length of the cf for you. It will need to be buffed and maybe give it a shot of clear coat to shine it up since it has small scratches on it from being inserted into my bike frame. If you want perfect condition and this size works buy any 27.2 seat post off eBay and cut a a piece to fit.

There are also 1 inch ID carbon headset spacers that come in 20mm lengths but those might have too large of a outside diameter for you.

How about using your old hammer?

old hammer cost 75 bux before shipping. its better off used for trade or sale, or god forbid another rifle…

btw…95g TT hammer, if anyone interested.

How about using your old hammer?

What OD do you need? I have a bunch of carbon fiber stuff laying around from from cycling.

same as the frame id, an inch or VERY slightly over.
