Q:

In search of 1 or more of the .177 Mutant converstion kits brought into the US

Now before you say that this belongs in the ‘for sale’ section… There really isn’t much activity there AND this is Mutant specific. And I’m looking as much for contacts as much as I am for stuff to buy directly purchase….
Mod – delete if you must.

I really want to find one of these kits and/or one of the converted Mutants. I know 4 kits beyond the one I have were brought into the US and I think a .177 Mutant was imported privately so my math says there are at least 4-5 other Mutant .177’s or the conversion kits out there.

email me. motivated buyer ((once I find the stuff !!))

A group buy would be good if it was available for the .177 conversion with magazines for the mutant and veteran,I would definitely be in it!

I would love to see a .177 mutant shoot a field target match, since the .22’s and 25’s are so lazer accurate..

I’m also looking at kits for a barrel swap. Thinking of trying Field target and some local events here that only let you shoot 20 fpe and largest caliber allowed is 22.

I also hope Dman is ok.

I wonder what happened to Dman, He was a major part in the Mutant/Veteran guns and seeing that they were good to go.
I hope he is OK and in good health, I think he played a big part in these guns going to market,

I tried him too. If for no other reason than that he might have been able to point me toward other owners. No luck.

I just moved the .177 kit I have to a standard. Had it on a shorty. I’m ‘planning’ to use it for FT locally this season and the standard was more stable on my sticks. And with reg work… 130 shots at 17FPE… love it.

If I go to a tuner, like ernest, I’ll probably just source the bushing, probe and a SS tray. Mags are nice but I really don’t use them. And if I go this route I’ll have a couple .177 and a couple .25 sets made. At this point, any further effort will have to wait till late fall. I’m not going to take it apart and ship my parts off for duplication with the FT season on the way… I’ve missed the past couple seasons and I’m determined to shoot this year.

I texted Dman around Christmas, never heard back from him.
I was one of the lucky few to have him covert one to .177.

I think the answer to all your questions are in Dman,
He had a lot to do with the Veteran 25 coming in and I am about 100% sure he imported the 177 kits
He is the Key, He is the man, He has all the answers,,,,
Next will be Earnest, or a machine shop guy like John Hagan in Colorado,
Mike

Fml! I wanted one of these for my shorty that i sold months ago!!!!! I hope the .177 conversion cam be found/imported, cause i would snatch that up in a second.

I only know of one other conversion besides mine. If other ppl have them their pretty damn closed mouth about it. I’ve read of a couple single shot conversion. Good luck on picking one up Bean.

I tried selling a .177 kit…it didn’t sell so I sold my other 18FPE .177 and committed to this instead. Now that’ve made a commitment to it, I’d like another. I’m kind of stuck in the platform. 5 of them, extra regs, reg tester, variety of barrels. Yeah, I got sucked in…

Never had an issue with the mutant as a .177. … Oddly, I can shoot the bullpups better in most cases than I can a full size rifle. the current one is at 20FPE, would like to build one at about 10-11 FPE. I have a .22 set to that level but ‘fine’ accuracy suffers if I use light .22 pellets and the heavies are tough at that power level.

So, while I have someone I trust to reproduce the .177 parts needed… I’d really like to find one of the kits, or one of the bullpups it was installed in.

Thought you was selling a .177 kit? http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=37105

Have you tried to get hold of Earnest to see if he can build one for you.
I wanted one real bad but I looked at the speed of the 22 and also the lighter pellets if I wanted get down to 177 weight.
I think with the PCP guns the 22 can shoot just as flat as a 177, With the power plants we have now.
If it sound like I am still trying to talk my self out of a 177, Yea there is a little bit of that in there.
