Initial thoughts of new Vulcan .25

Been away since last week visiting my son and as it works out my new Vulcan shows up the day I leave.
Anyway got home late last night and opened her up.
The first thing that struck me was the compact size.
Grabbing ahold of the gun it felt solid, nothing shaking around that is for sure.
While the grain of the stock is plain I thought it nice looking. The finish is finE on mine. No bubbles or dust in the finish that I could discern.

I was hoping the fill nipple would be the same as Cricket but atlas that was not to be.
After getting the fill nipple on my air tank I filled her up to 250 bar.
Loaded the magazine as I wanted to shoot a few in the dark just to hear her.
The spring twang is the most noticeable thing. Muzzle report not bad at all.
It does take a little effort to seat the pellets on the forward stroke.
This morning I used Cro mag. pellets to sight her in and they seated easier than the JSB’s.

I mounted on my 10X Hawke Sidewinder this morning in Burris 30 mm Signature rings. A well proven scope that has sat on quite a few high end PCP’s.
Set out a shoe box at 25 yards and the first shot was dead center and 8″ low. Not sure were the cross hairs where mechanically but was happy to see that.
Gave the up a good mount of twist and nailed the letter I was aiming at.
Moved her out to forty and had to adjust L a bit and she was right on.

Had a empty solid 55 gallon drum setting 70 yards away and shot it leaving a mark.
Shot three at that mark and had a tight cluster two mils low. Shot three more and they all grouped right in with the other three.
I was shooting standing and hurried off the corner of my house and in no way very stabile but there is no doubt this is accurate gun.

I shot a magazine through my chronograph and got a average of 869 fps. 14 fps.
All this shooting was quick and ugly style.

I wouldn’t call this gun back yard friendly if you don’t want your neighbors to know you are shooting something.
But it is not loud especially considering the power and compact size.
I know why there is a topic on the spring twang now.

I thought the trigger pretty nice. The maker could of spent some time shapening/rounding the corners a bit but it is fine.
It is pretty light with a Short first stage.
I’ll likely mess with it but as it came it is pretty dang good.

The magazine is straight forward in loading and insertion. No complaints there.
The side cocking is fine but is no side lever. There just isn’t any mechanical advantage with the slide bolt but shouldn’t be a issue to manly men.
Could stand a longer knob with more threads in the cocking piece but certainly usable.

I came away feeling this gun is a keeper.
Haven’t proved the accuracy from a good rest but every shot went where expected. Can’t wait to have time to ring her out.
The case the gun came in is nice for shipping but not big enough with a full size cope mounted.
I saw that it will shoot four mags,36 shots without dropping off the reg. at 150 bar per the book.
For the size, I am good with that.
I think this gun will be a awesome truck and hunting gun.
I have more enjoyable guns to empty pellet tins with. But none that combine the compact size, power, and other attributes specifically in .25.
Two year warranty as well.
