Installed a depinger. Shit, that was difficult.
Let me say up front- I’m a mouth breathing neanderthal when it comes to pcp tuning/modding. When I began cracking into my new 25 Cricket WST, to say I was nervous is a lie, I was terrified.
Everything went relatively smooth until I went to slide the depinger in place. I had a short section of pipe to use to push the depinger down the airtube, a little past midways. Well, the depinger has to be a tight fit so its tough to shove in. I got it past the gauge cap threads and started to hammer it down with my palm and the pipe. Got it down into place and removed the pipe. I then visually checked down the air tube to make sure it was proper depth and looked good when I noticed all the shit that fell out of that old pipe into my airtube while I was hammering. Damnit. Shook out all I could, it wanted to stay in there because of all the grease. Well, theres still some in there and hopefully it wont fuck anything up over time.
after closing up the tube, I went to slide it back through the scope mounting brackets and while balancing it on my lap, the air tube slid and scratched itself a good 4″. Damnit.
got the gun back together finally, began trying to fill it but I screwed the gauge assembly in to far and couldn’t get the fill probe in. Damnit. Lol
backed the gauge out a little and she took air fine. I fired two test shots and it may or may not have made a difference. Im sure it did, im just too tired and frustrated to notice. All I can say is what a freakin’ headache I put myself through for such a minor annoyance like a ping sound. Next time im sending that bitch to Ernest to get done RIGHT.

Too late to send to Ernest now, the deed is done and its working!
Damnit Ernest, you have to be kidding me. I went through all that hell and now you pop in to say “Hey look, new improved design.. screw you Haggard.” Thanks Ernie..
I used an antique Craftsman stone, dual wheel grinder. The coarse wheel shaved the vinyl tube in literally seconds.. then I took 5 minutes to very gently apply it to the finer side wheel.
The grinding was very quick and easy for me, the difficult part was quadruple checking its fit to my air tube to make sure I didnt take off too much.
