Installed new GRT-III trigger on my Gamo Varmint Hunter today.
WOW, Difference is night and day. Heavy, Nasty Gamo trigger really does suck !
This baby makes the pull nice and crisp. It is so much easier to shoot with it now.
It is truly the first upgrade that should be done to Any Gamo rifle.

As far as I was aware there was a discussion going on, your apparantly offended by that discussion and want it to stop – even tho those who want to quash discussion elsewhere are “nazi’s” in your book… That would look a bit off, but your not protecting anyone right?

Hey, YN, I’m not sure I got where you were going, but if I pissed in your Cheerios I’m sorry, that wasn’t my intent. Nor was it my intent to try to “protect” anyone from anything, other than myself, maybe. I’ve heard so much about this feud in the last two years I could puke, I guess having it pop up here got an “aw, shit!” from me, and it came through in my post. Had it stayed just a review of the trigger, I probably wouldn’t have responded, guess I’d best keep my ramblings to myself in the future, for fear of upsetting someone, too. BTW, would you mind telling me exactly what I did that pissed you off?
On second thought, fuck it, I don’t care who or how I offended here, cause frankly, the whole damn thing offends the hell out of me! And Adam, I don’t care if Steve is a friend of yours, he may be a great guy, but he’s also more than a bit of a Nazi. He runs his forum with a very heavy hand, AND he plays favorites, neither of which earns my respect. I guess it was foolish of me to think this place, at least, was immune to the Bob Werner/Steve Woodward/Yellow Forum bull shit, obviously I was wrong.

Its a good purchase, there’s history behind it all and I find it all very interesting and something to talk about. I think I might actually have another one laying around (I bought two, sold one with a gun) and wouldn’t hesitate in using it if I bought another Gamo.
FACT: the GRT III trigger works as advertised. FACT: Steve Woodward recently attempted to re-introduce the older GTX version, and from what I’ve seen, it bombed. OPINION: Steve Woodward may be a great pitch man, but he seems to be very good at avoiding putting up any of his own money or time to produce or market any of “his” ideas.
Regarding Bob and his qualifications as a tuner, it’s really a moot point now that he’s retired. He’s worked on lots of guns over the years, many customers have been thrilled, some have not. Sounds pretty typical of anyone in a service business. My personal experience was mostly positive. Can’t say the same about my experience with Steve Woodward. Claiming he lied about using Maccarri springs is stupid, JM isn’t shy about setting that kind of record straight, he’s done it before. As to the deletion of any mention on the Yellow, all I can say is forum owners prerogative. I don’t agree, but it is what it is, and he has the right. So did I miss anything important, or can everyone stop beating this dead horse? Later.

I’d just first like to bring this to your attention –
You obviously have a position on this issue – so to act like your simply trying to protect us all from having to read the same information over and over and over is nonsensical, especially when you make a few digs at Steve in NC in the process.
I think I’ll talk about whatever I want thank you very much and you can disagree with me talking about it as publicly as you want – Rather than just saying “oh no not that BS again” how about just cutting out the shit and simply posting that other stuff you brought up – I’m just trying to save you some time in writing your posts – such as Steve in NC never actually selling anything himself and having others do his dirty work.
I bought a Crosman Sear that steve had produvced, but then offered for sale through big ed machining and was very public about how shitty quality it was…. he responded as if it was nothing to do with him and left Big Ed (Who gave me excellent service I might add) to hold the wet kipper all by himself.
But next time someone wrongs me… I wont mention it for fear of it upsetting someone – and just hope that he doesn’t do it to anyone else.

The owner of the Yellow Forum is a friend of mine and Jim Maccarri told him his springs were not used as advertised.
Jim use to have an entire page on his website talking about this and he offered to tell anyone who would call him how many springs the tuner bought a year.
The situation does bring a lot of drama that is for sure. :12

Does this crap need to start all over again here, too? This has been cussed and discussed to death in too many places, fact of the matter is, the only ones that know the whole truth have totally different stories. I’ve yet to see a single piece of hard evidence supporting either side. In over two years of being involved in this sport, it’s never been anything but “he said/he said”.

Before I knew about the issues between Bob Werner (Charlie da tuna) and Steve in NC I had ordered one of them and put it in a Gamo Shadow – They are very nicely made and work wonders for Gamo style triggers.
There’s a thread on the Dianawerks forum about a gun that was sent to Bob for a tune – came back shooting low power and from what another tuner who took on the gun to see what the issue was it wasnt even tuned properly, if at all and incorrect lubes were used.
I think its a shame that theres just an information blackout on any mention of Bob on the Yellow Forum… I wonder how many guys have bought parts or sent guns to him who had no idea about the background info and the con’s that the guy has pulled – Such as ripping off his partner, claiming to use Maccari Springs, and then the poor tunes…..
Not doing anyone any favors by keeping that kind of information from people.

The Rich from Mich trigger insert works pretty good too, but I like the GRT3 a bit better, but really they perform about the same. The Rich insert is a lot cheaper at $8.00 shipped though, vs $35.00 or so for the GRT3, but the GRT3 looks really cool and fits the fingers better too I think.
Too bad that Steve is not the one currently making/selling them though. Per the current producer, Steve “sold” the rights to him and he also claims to have redesigned/improved the original one making it safer and better performing as well. ❓ ❓
Too bad Steve doesn’t produce an alternative and reap the rewards.
I am sure he could sell tons of them on the Yellow Forum.. Just don’t dare mention the GRT3 on the “Yellow” though… I found out the hard way… 😆 😆 And I mean literally, do not meantion it by name… You can’t even use code words for it like “the gold insert”… 😆 😆
The members hold a real grudge against “Charlie da Tuna” for that whole business mess. And perhaps rightly so… ❓ ❓ ❓ (I”m still not sure just what to think about all that. Some truth on both sides of that feud I think…)

I mentioned Steve is a friend because one he is and two that means I talk to him and was told what Jim Macarri said about Charlie Da Tuna and his non use of springs in his tunes. As for Steve being a bit of a Nazi on his forum and him showing favorites? How is that any different then the way the GTA is run? They have the same rules and show favor to some over others. You must not respect Gene and Charile either. I have seen the deletions and heavy handiness on the GTA when things mentioned there due not suit them.
Everyone from other forums moan and bitch about the Yellow Forum and their rules. They then run off to start their own forums and implement those same rules on their new forum. The only airgun forum that does not mirror the rules of the other airgun forums is THIS ONE!
If I or Tony, Sharp, YN or anyone else starts to cheat people in their dealings we too would be subject to being fucking grilled and served up to the masses here on the TAG.
If the conversation about Charlie upsets you just think about how it upsets this guy

The Best thing that happened to Charlie Da Tuna is that his name and business is not allowed to be mentioned on the Yellow Forum. If it where he would receive so much negative press he would not be able to hide. But since he can not be mentioned on the Yellow Forum, which is Americas Largest Airgun Forum, he can go about his business relatively unmolested.
