Q:

Interested in a shroud

I’m looking for a shroud but can’t spend $200 yet. I’m not willing to wait, so my question is which is a good shroud for a decent price?

yeah I copied triggermans baffle job out of PVC and scotchbrite, and its so quiet , I didn’t think it was possible to get any quieter! So if he says its awesome than I’m ordering one rite now!

Trigger, one day I may have to check out your Tony shroud in person. I may change direction with the screw on if they’re that much more efficient. Once I get this .25 setup complete you’re welcome to a few rounds with that also.

I can save up and play around in the meantime. What baffles did you use in the tube and what was the basic arrangement?

Jooleyen – Save your cash and get the Frame Extender. If your not happy with it, you can sell it and recoup nearly all the money you spent.

You could always try your hand at making one. I was perfectly happy (noise wise) with a 1″ aluminum tube with some washers inside.. total cost $10, it helps to have a lathe… but it can be done with limited tools.

If you are looking for quiet, then Tony’s is the way to go. Money spent on other assortments will just be money thrown away that should have been put toward the best one in the beginning IMO……

I speak from experience ! ! !

So it really is worth spending the extra? It will make that much of a difference.

Get a Tony shroud. AWESOME is the only word to describe it. You’ll think something is wrong with your gun after you put it on. Put it through a crony and you’ll see everything is the same, but 85% quieter.

thank you. I didnt think the barrel and shroud would fit together without the frame extender. Thanks again!

How does the frameextender stand up to Tony’s shroud.

Tony’s shroud would steal bulls eye bills shrouds dinner money and buy heroin.

If I add a frame extender to my stock ss will it give me the room I need for an 18″ barrel and a tony shroud?

The frame extender is a shroud – It isn’t for use with another shroud.

If you have a Talon SS and an 18″ frame the frame will cover the barrel and you’d use EITHER a Talon Tunes Shroud, Air hog Shroud or a Frame Extender.
