Is my AF hand pump working?

Never use a pump before becaue I have a scba tank. Bu try today just to see (used).
When pumping I canfeel the vaccum hold when pumping in or pulling it out. After around 15 strokes it seem to be stuck. Does not want to be pump or pull near the end of the stroke. I think that is where the pressure in the pump and the bottle are getting close. Guage still read 0 psi.
Appy abit more force to the pump and it seem that the bottle valve is open and pumping start to be easy once again and can see the psi increase about 100 per a stroke. Onc eit hit 2000psi where the bootle pressure it, it does not seem to be moving as fast as before. I put in about 15-20 pumps and can only see an increase of 100 psi or so.
Stop afterward.. sweating.

I believe Sun Optics services them, you can contact them and see if they offer a rebuild kit for it.
if you have some mechanical skill then if I were you I would disassemble the pump, clean everything spotless, lube the orings with a bit of silicone grease along with a very little bit on the tubes, reassemble and give it a try. those are known for coming out of the factory over lubed as well as having leftover oil in them… both are not good

you should be building pressure from the get go of pumping, and yes once the bottle and pump equalize pumping will become harder and slower… but it sound like you need a rebuild.
is the pump one of the old ones or the new ones?
the old ones have a rectangular pump bace and the new ones have a rounded bace
