Is the Daystate Airwolf MTC still in vogue?
Looking at an opportunity to buy one in .22, used. The price is right, but is it a good value for long range accuracy (beyond 50 yards)? I guess I could spend more for an accurate gun, but probably less too, since I don’t hunt, but I do some informal benchrest. I guess I could always turn around and sell it.

Does your CF bottle alter the balance much,Drumie? What other models do you have?

Should be just as good for you. 16 power levels is awesome. Mine only had high and low. Sounds like a shooter for sure. I like the electronic Daystates so much I have 3 of them.

it turns out the model for sale is actually an Airwolf CDT. I bought it anyway, so here’s hoping. New battery pack, single-shot tray, one magazine. Immaculate condition. Seems it can be set to 16 different power levels. I did not know that, but I welcome it. Owner was shooting Beeman Kodiaks. He’s won winter varmint matches with it at 70 yards. I’ll have a chance to get it to the range tomorrow morning. Don’t know if it is such a great deal now,being the older version, but it has a good pedigree. :whistle:

I forgot to mention. The stock tanks are 500cc and the CF tanks are 490cc. So you only loose 10cc. It won’t matter because the MTC gets a ton of shots.
I have been using the 18gr JSB lubed with slick 50. It shoots most pellets well but the JSB the best. Also shoots the Predators great. No the bottle swap is very easy. Just shoot the gun down to empty and unread the stock bottle and thread the new one on. The tank on my Wolf was hard to break free. Had to use a strap wrench. The one on my Air Ranger came off by hand.

thanks for the reply. What pellets are you using? The seller has been using Barracuda Match 21 grains. I like the idea of a lighter carbon fiber tank too. Is it as large in capacity as the original one on the gun,and is replacement difficult?

I have a Air Wolf Tact in 22. It is my favorite gun to shoot. Very easy to shoot. One of my most accurate rifles that I own. Only issue with long range with it is the wind. I have no problems getting good groups at 100 yards with mine. I also put on a Carbon fiber tank on mine. Made a huge difference on the weight of the gun. If you are only shooting off a bench it won’t matter. But if you are carrying it it will make a world of difference. The Daystate carbon fiber tanks are around $300. The carbon tanks that Tony is selling now for around $200 are almost the same tank and will work on it.

The CF bottle balances the gun much better. It takes all that weight away from the front. Not much for mods. Just the CF barrel, huggett, and I installed a rail on the stock for the Atlas bipod.
