That is the reason the Yellow gave when they dumped it but I heard other factors were involved.
For what ever reason they want it cut back so I’m ok with it. Maybe it will help with searching like F&D suggested.

The limit was 254 characters.
I added to mine last eve. and it kicked out as too large, I have seen this in the past so I dropped the Scopes on my rifles and all was good but still way over the 12 character limit so it is not enforcing the 12 ???
Edit: It will not let me change mine to anything similar now so it appears that 12 is the new deal…I have to think about it, more challanging now..
Try searching on something unique in your signature.
I have a feeling that the limit was changed due to fact that we all put all our guns in our signature and it makes Search Engine useless.
I tried to post a signature and it said I was over ther 12 character limit. Was going to ask wtf but didn’t. I usually don’t know what I’m doing anyway.
Seems some kind of a typo, supposed to be 120 something ?? Most of us have more than 12 characters in our sig’s, I have changed mine and it let me do what I wanted. If they enforce this I will have to send back my Cricket due to lack of signature space.

This one is clickable to make readable, that big deal above for fun , forced a picture URL link to be added to every post, I think a little scaling and tweaking and we can do it with no impact on searching at all. Put you Sig. in a pic or screenshot and then link it with the sig. feature of our forum, under add a image and put no words in the box for typing….
I’m still tweaking mine and deciding if I want anything at all or just dump it.
