Q:

Is there such a thing???

I’m looking for a way to mount a green laser flat to the frame or as close as possible. The laser I have fits a one inch scope ring perfectly, but the ring I’m using sets it about an inch or two away from the bore. I’d like something that gets it setting right on top of the frame. I removed my tri-rail to get the scope closer to the bore centerline. I’d like to do the same with my laser. If you have any pics or suggestions for LOW mount scope rings I’d appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

That sounds neat Walt but, I’m wanting to keep my shroud. I wonder if two hose clamps around the frame and laser would work? Would look like hell though.

24″ with a shroud.

The reason I ask is because on several of my guns I have the laser strapped directly to the barrel for exactly the same reason you are inquiring into: to get it as close to the centerline of the bore. I milled off the clamping legs on the laser housing, and instead milled a V slot on the bottom of the housing so that it would align with the barrel, then just used a waterhose clamp to clamp the laser housing directly onto the barrel. It works great and lies perhaps 2/3″ from the boreline, so the parallax error is very negligible. If you want this on your gun, you’ll have to eliminate the shroud and go with a screw on type.

Thanks Buzzcat. I’ll look at W.W. today. I know the ring I’m using now is an el cheapo no name.

It’d help to know which exact ring are you using right now? The one I’m using for my laser has about a 3/8″ rise from the rail to the bottom of the ring, and that’s the lowest I’ve been able to find. Damned if I can remember at the moment who made it, but they’re a fairly big name in rings, and I bought it at WallyWorld.

What’s your barrel length?

24” Walt. It has a Tony shroud on it.

This laser is expensive, but has a very low profile.

I am current using the scope rail adapter 3/8″ dovetail to 7/8″ weaver on my Condor, it seem to work great, you will need a pair, because the rail is short.

You can pickup a pair here http://cgi.ebay.com/CROSSBOW-SCOPE-RAIL-ADAPTER-3-8-DOVETAIL-to-7-8-WEAVER_W0QQitemZ230416543472QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item35a5e56ef0
