Is this normal for .22 cal barrels?

I am just not sure so I am going to ask.

Is it normal for 12 inch stock TSS .22 cal Barrel to be So much smaller in overall diameter than 18 inch .22 cal Barrel that I just got and installed.

Stock 12 inch is soooooo tiny compared to 18 inch beefy barrel.
