Is this valve still good? (NOW BETTER PICS ON FIRST POST)
Its my Talon valve that I removed when I installed my Selph/Blod valve. It was such a bitch to get off I ended up messing it up where the burst disc is.
Is it safe to sell it as is and if so how much?

The tank is $70-$80 I believe, so no real savings if you buy them together…

Gosh.. Might as well buy a new tank and be done with it at those valve prices.

Find out what A.F. would charge you for a new burst disc.
Clean up the thread with a tap and it probably will be fine.
take a close up or three of it if you didn’t mess it up to bad I will buy it at a discount price and see if I can repair the threads.
An easy valve removal tool is to get a die wrench (Cant remember the size) and thread a bolt through the hole into the wrench and into the blank hole on the tank
Very easy to do and leaves no marks

I’ll try to take a better pic. The threads are messed up where the disc is and I think there was a little piece where it is threaded. Its been a while since I took it off.
I tried every way possible to to get it off I ended up using a pipe wrench and had tank in vice and still was a bitch to get off with two people.

From that picture we can’t really see what damage has been done to the burst disk hole.
A closer picture with good light with the camera in macro mode would do wonders.
Can’t really tell by the pictures if it was a high flow valve I would buy it from you! what is wrong with it pipe wrench marks? or deep marks from whatever you used to get it off? I know there are some on here that make wrenches for them if you get into it again what I did that really worked out well is go buy what they call a locking collar or a dodge collar farm stores carry them they are bigger than what hardware stores usually carries but buy one that is 1 1/4 inches ID “inside hole” it will come with a set screw get a hex head bolt the same size as the set screw about an inch and a quarter long if you have a lathe turn the threaded end down to fit in the hole on the valve with nothing in it, if I remember around 5/16″ if you don’t have a lath just grind it down doesn’t have to be pretty 😆 screw the hex bolt down inside the blank hole then get out anything you want big pipe wrench set it on the dodge collar and against your hex head bolt with your bottle empty and clamped up and turn away won’t damage anything but the dodge collar which don’t matter you can use it over and over again! If you end up selling it let me know what you want for it not sure what used ones go for but I am sure it is sellable!
