Q:

Is Vulcan affected by POI shift?

We know the story from Cricket. Is the situation the same in Vulcan? The barrel is clamped.

you just don’t listen, closer to 800fps would be better both BC wise and shoutcount would double. but no, all you want max speed,

then accept the hammer slap, low shotcount, change of POI and all the extra wear.
I have spoken

Why would we want to shoot sub 12fpe? Hell I can piss farther than that……

only the power hungry Americans have such issues. Having a large shotcount also helps with this issue.

anyway what is the order of tightening up the bolts? I would just use a torque spanner if you had doubts

… I was looking at the Huben, is that just plastic foam around the barrel?

I don’t know if there is zero shift but if it is its not much. I have not put it through the paces as I have the cricket. But out of the box it doesn’t have poi shifts as cricket has. But I have fixed my cricket to minimize this.

The barrel in Vulcan is clamped. I do not understand why there is no POI shift. Cricket required to tighten the screws in the right order to avoid POI shift.

Sounds like my kinda shooting discipline !

The only POI shift that I’ve experienced was tryin to shoot after visiting the Finn.. Ville’s bar. I say line em up Ville lets see how many empties we can shoot ๐Ÿ™„

not free float

I never experienced a POI shift

quote amjadck:

Unlike cricket design, Vulcan have free floating barrel. A poi shift from air tank pressure variation won’t be there.

Itยดs not free floating but clamped like the Cricket BUT the tolerances are much finer so the AT pressure has no effect on the POI whatsoever.

But is it a semi floating? Like in Matador? Or maybe clamped like in Cricket?

I suppose Vulcan doesn’t have full floating barrel…

Free floating barrel? Are you sure? Can anyone from the owners confirm that?
