Q:

It’s pretty easy to switch calibers

On a cricket. Just swap out the pellet probe and barrel, done.

Really? Because there’s nothing complicated about doing this at all IMO. Only if you want discontinued products lol

you should check the mutant .. its pretty easy .. i call this complicated compare to mutant 🙂

Doesn’t sound so easy after all.

Should not be a problem if you can find a .22 barrel and shroud. But I belive the .22 barrel is no longer made so you would have to get something custom, maybe someone can make a compatible One in a lathe? Or get a Listone like the Mutant Shorty before

I see, now I know what “plenum” is, Thanks

quote Cricket:

What exactly does a “longer plenum” mean? Is it the prechamber in the gun or is it something to do with the regulator itself? Does it mean the .25 Cricket has a different reg?

It has the same reg but it is set to a slightly higher pressure and the inside wall of air cylinder is machined a little deeper into the tube to allow a longer spacer/plenum in front of the valve. This makes for a larger “prechamber” of regulated air for the .25cal.
The .25cal cricket has a different air cylinder to the .22 and .177 as it needs the extra regulated air space which also moved the regs external breather vent further down the tube.
You can just turn a .22 reg up higher to run a .25 barrel and probe but it will break valves prematurely and you wont get very good air efficiency or pellet velocity. The .25 also has a larger transfer port and suppressor baffles/end cap.

quote Wingman NZ:

You also need a longer plenum and higher reg pressure and the heavier hammer spring when going up to .25cal
