Q:

Jerry’s 6-ring slugs

Right now I have a TalonSS in .22cal. and later on I’m going to add a .25cal. barrel that will be 14.5″ min. to maybe 16″ max. I don,t expect to be shooting at anything greater than 40 yards . Since my air tank is the standard TalonSS with spin-loc , would it be feasible to shoot Jerry’s 6-ring slug
useing a short .25cal. barrel at say 10 to 30 yards with my current air tank set-up ? .

I have also had very good results with the good old stand by JSB 25.39’s but I’m shooting from an 18″ barrel. Hopefully it’s still in the Quick Reference section, there was a quick and simple Talon valve mod, which I did on mine. Maybe someone else can point it out, since I can’t seem to find it right now, but basically opened up the stem to 1/8″, polished the inside of the stem, then opened the inlet holes in the stem to the same 1/8″, slightly tapered, then polished those as well. That valve and tank will will sling the 25 JSB’s easily 900 – 950 plus or minus 50 or so depending on spring, and hammer. My hammer is a Condor, with a brass weight. A Condor valve either from Talon Tunes, or if you like to tinker modded following instructions you can find here as well could get you to the power range you want for slugs like that.

Thanks PANDEMIC , I’ll keep those pellets in mind when I change my barrel to a .25cal.

I would say h&n barracudas

To PANDEMIC , thanks for your reply and info . So set-up as a TalonSS in .25cal. with a barrel lenght between 14.5″ to 16″ what do you think would be the heavyist and most efficient grain pellet that I could use up to 40 yards ? .

I would say no only because I have a modded condor with 24″ barrel and it is pushing 6 ring slugs at 900 fps that is with a modded hi flow valve also you might only get 500 fps out of your gun but I could be wrong who knows
