Andy,
If you do it with the right materials and correctly, the main improvement is the reduction of metal fouling and ease of cleaning and these guns do foul.
Not like a firearm shooting lead, but thru lead tranfer. All that effets acccuracy.
The other thing on these rifles is that the more you shoot them the more accurate they get.
But yes there is always that thought in the back of your mind when your messing with something that shoots that well.

When Jack H and John B get together incredible things happen, they push the envelope and come out smiling…..always cooking up something impressive…..actually ASTOUNDING. Was talking with John today and he is getting closer to getting a 400+ yard coyote with that Scandalous, said he’s been whacking a few lately and got a 382 yarder a while back. I am quite sure he mentioned the 7mm groups are that accurate and the barrel has not even been fire lapped yet…

This is my 3 cascaded 66’s system that I made a foam case for
I have two fill whips, one regulated that you see in the picture and one not regulated that I use to fill the SCBA bottles from the Shoebox.
My regulator is the same one Joe B sells, and John has here, I just got mine off of EBAY, it is the MAKO regulator. Most of the time I just hook it up to a single 44 cf bottle, that gives me around 40 3800 PSI shots from a 4500 PSI fill. The 3 cascaded 66’s give me more shots at a single session than I will ever need.
You really need sets like this or booster pumps to make the 4000+PSI rifles work.

I have a theory that the reason these rifles become more accurate the more you shoot them (I hear a barrel is broken in after approx. 200 rounds), is that they are sort of being “fire lapped” by the bullets themselves, rather than “fire lapped” by the various progressive sized grits used in the process of true fire lapping. If true fire lapping is technically “deburring” the rifling lans and grooves (which is what I presume helps make abrasion on bullets and create the lead fouling) then do you think perhaps after shooting a few hundred bullets through the barrel, it sort of creates it’s own fire lapping process by helping smooth out and minimize the roughness of the barrel interior?

PS: my shoebox 4500 and carbon fiber tanks are in the mail as we speak. Soon I will be filling- gotta order a McMaster Carr as you suggested.
