Jsb .25 pellets
I just ordered some jsb .25 cal pellets, and they changed the design from the ones from last year. Now the AA diablo are the same as old jsb and new jsb has a totally different design inside the skirt. Needless to say, the old jsb shot a lot better than the new ones. Why do they change like this? I wanted the old design, now I’m stuck with new design.

I have a few of those and the trouble is eventually the pellets will make them top heavy by sticking in them if you have the upright prairie dogs or crows. 😛
pellets dont tumble like a bullet when unstable.. they just take on a corkscrew like spiral. The high drag skirt design of a pellet is self stablizing like a shuttlecock..
H&n are no where near the consistency of jsb good pelkets but too light for me in .25 under 20 grain and measure a few with digi calipers or weigh a few there every where
Bought new “self healing target ” today and shot it at 50 yards and every pellet is stuck in it, nose first. No tumbling at 50 yards anyhow. No time to run extension cords out to 75 yards or further to test at that point. Kinda all for nothing right now since I don’t know how fast the pellet is going.
That might be true and I have many thousands of H&Ns on hand. The trouble is many of the major airgun makers tweak their guns to JSBs. Air Arms, Edguns, FX, … They even have their own dies at the JSB facility for their own label JSB pellet. Even KalibrGun has JSB pellets in their photos on Facebook.
I tried 6 different kinds of H&N and none of them shoot good out of my cricket.
I don’t buy JSB. I don’t think they’re bad but I think H&N are superior. And they come with screw on tin’s.

I havent had any accuracy issues, just the two pellets that appear to have hit sideways. But they could have hit low and bounced before hitting. I was playing aorund with hold over at diffrent distances and hit low a few times. I also don’t know what my speed is yet cause its either been dark and rainy or I’ve had family in town so no Chrony numbers yet. I’m trying hard to talk myself into just keeping this rifle and not sell/trade. It’s everything I could expect from an Airgun, I just can’t bring myself to be happy with the shorter barrel.

I just checked and I got the same container of jsb pellets from pyramid last week that I got from them in February. And that’s after they ran out and had to restock..
I’ll have a just arrived order from AGD when I get home, I’ll inspect and advise of which I am seeing. All mine so far have been the larger flat in the bottom,I am pretty sure.
My 25 shoots both equally at 940fps. No issue here

For what’s worth I just placed an order prior to getting my .25 R3M and got the latest .25JSB pellets and my new Edgun with less than a tin of pellets is shooting as good as my .22R3 that is extremely accurate and broken in with several thousand shots. They say that the Edgun becomes more accurate with a break in period well if that’s true then I am in for a pleasant surprise with this new .25 R3M Edgun.
As for which is the better pellet, old or new JSB, only your gun can tell you. As my gun has told me that the latest JSB is mighty fine to it’s liking. Taking out starlings at 80 yards not even a challenge. I’m not seeing any issues with these pellets but doesn’t mean it will be a match in heaven between your Eddy and JSB.
Appears you may be having an issue if in fact your pellets are impacting side ways. Perhaps clipping? Easy enough to check. My R3M is working flawlessly and was factory set at 948 fps with .25.4 jsb’s. I have not even cleaned the barrel yet and I can hit a quarter size object consistently at 90 yards. Yes I am smiling. I hope you fine the perfect pellet and or issue you may be experiencing.

So, the AA pellets are the closer to the ones Ed swears the matador are tuned to shot best, or is it the newer ones? Also, what happened to the new 30 grain 25 caliber pellet jsb was coming out with? Did I dream this? I can’t realy afford to be dropping cash on five diffrent types of pellets to see what works best. I just dropped 5 weeks pay on a rifle and still need a better scope and new scba tank. So far I’m having ok luck with the jsbs but I’m thinking its shooting. Title hot cause I’ve found two pellets stuck to the brick I set my targets on and the were both sideways. They didn’t hit head first, they hit skirt/side of the head first. This ws at about 75 yards.

All of the JSB 15.9 and 25.4 from Pyramyd have been the red/black tins for a while. When they first switched from the red/gray tins, some people said they noticed a change in accuracy. Haven’t heard of any complaints lately

The problem I had with the old one was thwt I always used it to figure out if I was hitting high or low. S, I would air at the axial of the two targets and see it if spun towards me, or away from me. If the top moves to you, you hit low, if the bottom swings up to you, you hit high. Problem is when you aren’t hitting high or low. If you hit the center, the pellets become set screws and cause issues with the whole spinning thing. After a few of them have been packed into that area, they push againt the wire and it won’t work at all. S you’ve got to pull it off the frame and digg all the lead out. Tis new one is much thicker in the center so I’m hoping that don’t happen anymore. I’d like to get a new metal target but I’m not sure if the 25 has the power to make them spin at 75-100 yards. My npXL 22 kicked the shit out of the last me I had at 35 yards, and the 25 matador had abut the same power at 100 yards as the npXL at 35 yards, so it should work ok. .
I was getting what sounded like a slight whistling sound from the pellets when they shot, it it hasn’t happened in a while.
