JSB-Monsters and Condor SS
Messed around with my Condor a little today and shot some of the JSB-Monsters from the 12″ barrel… I filled to the rifle to 3K, which turns out to much for now, but here is how it all went down… Going to try a 2800 fill tomorrow…

Now the first 18 shots are with to much fill pressure for the setup I have right now… I must say those in the 800’s are spot on at 25 yards they just stack out… First I have shot of the Monsters and will say I like these pellets. I still have alot of work if I was going to use these exclusively… Figure out what fill pressure I would go with, but what I wanted to see here was the POI and how the new larger tank works out…
Got to get to the building of the regulator for these rifles soon as Jim gets all his projects caught up or I run across a lathe I can use… I guess with 51 shots over 800fps from this new tank and from the first run of these JSB-Monsters was not to bad from a 12″ barrel???
I have my PW adjusted all the way off. I plan to make an adjustment to remove the PW all together sometime in the near future… There is going to be lots of changes to the AF rifles around here in the near future…
As is right now, this rifle loves the Kodiacs, EJ’s and the JSB-Monsters. I shot some of all these and they all have close to the same POI… The Smaller predators and JSB 15.8 all over 1000fps and the POI would have to be adjusted alot… So what do you think guys???

I am dying to see if there is any advantage at a longer range of 75-100yards with these pellets…
I want to do a run between the Kodiacs, EJ 28gr. and the JSB-Monsters
These three pellets in both of my PCP rifles do really well at 25yards, but damn that is nothing like 75 to 100 yards…
We got wind and drizzle right now and don’t look like much better for several days… I can shoot these at my old stand-by trees out the back door and get a good idea, but I want them on paper to see what they really do from each rifle…
Not to mention we should have some of Jerrys slugs out soon for the .22 caliber as well, and I damn sure want to add these to the list. I just thought if I could pick the best from these it would shorten the list down somewhat for each rifle…
Now if the weather would give me a break…

Now I had every intention of getting out to shoot the JSB-Monsters at a 100yard range this weekend. If the wind allowed. All this past two weeks we have had to much wind to see what you really have from these at that range…
Now we have snow and ice all over and its like way nasty and cold out… So, not sure what I might do or not LOL… I have shot them from both of my PCP rifles now and I got the kit installed in my Rapid MKII as well…
My MKII shoots so nice and the trigger on this thing since I have worked it over and installed a over travel stop and set the break on it liike I wanted is awesome… I would like to see about making one of the mark IV trigger assemblys fit the Condor, that would be really sweet….
The MKII shoots the different pellets right now where I have it set, like well over 1000 FPS and getting to close for comfort to 1100 for the Kodiacs, so I lifted some out of the rifle trying to park the MKII around the 1010-1030 mark somewhere.
The JSB-Monsters excite the barrel at 950-970 for the most part anyway, the EJ-28gr. pellets right at 920-940 They don’t all have the same POI but they do all shoot really nice one hole groups at 25 yards if I do my part…

I mic’d a few different pellets to compair and the head of the JSB-Monsters are the smaller by .001″… Skirts are really close to each other and somewhat harder to know for sure with them all being a little tweeked out of round…
I also did something else I wanted to compair the FPS of the 12″ barrel to the 18″ barrel… I have done this more than a few times and even threw in the mix the 24″ barrel, but I was not sure how the out come was, so I did it again… I just didn’t do the 24″ this time as I knew I was not going back to that size for now anyway…
The 12″ I have shooting the Monsters@ 850fps and that was with a 2600psi fill…
Swapped to the 18″ barrel of mine and topped off the tnak and it was in the 950’s fps… Even a little more actually, but rounding things off it just seemed like an easy 100fps more was a good round number to run with…
So with no OAL change in the Condor SS its going to stay with the 18″ barrel… Shoots the Monsters, Kodiacs and the EJ-28’s really well and pretty much really close to the same POI… The predators for a trial run was just almost a sonic crack and was 1079 and change a few times… POI was not so close with them… The JSB-18gr pellets was right at a cool 1000fps and shot really well as the others… Freakin’ Condor SS was a pellet stackin machine like this. I want to run the top off pressure to 2800 and see, but I am pretty sure its going to be spot on right there…
The rifle is a little more heavy now with the extra 6″ in length, as well as the 18″ barrel being thicker diameter… I even feel better with the extra length of the barrel at farther ranges. Its a little windy here right now to find out for sure, but I sure could see a difference like this on the Monsters and the EJ-28’s…
Kodiacs and the Monsters are looking real tight for the favorite pellet around here. Want to do some long distance POI tests to see how they stack up to each other and then should be able to make a better choice for best all around pellet… I am also having second thoughts on the .25 caliber barrel length now and drooling over the thought of the .25 being cut to a 18″… Walts going to send my money back if I keep jacking with this LOL…

I want to say the guy I bought this tank from was named Lush… But I am not sure at all… I think he was in the calif. but not sure of that either…
I will find a tank like this once things slow down and I can focus on this… I am presently waiting on a valve and spring kit from 220 Swift, for my Rapid MKII, once it gets here I will be all over getting the new guts into my poor ol’e tired MKII LOL…
Then maybe I can get more focused on this sort of stuff… I do plan to go at making the pre-chamber for this before I even get into the regulator… I had the regulator on my Rapid a couple times and removed it all together once I was certain I didn’t have enough pre-chamber to drive the heavier pellets as hard as I wanted… The Rapid is very limited to the pre-chamber size with how the receiver is made…
On the Condor I am going to go at this way differently… I may not even need the regulator to get the shot to shot fps more even once the pre-chamber is in place… Time will tell, I got to get the tank and the EtaC off the Condor frame to start all this… I will keep all posted on the way things move forward or backwards LOL… Lets hope they go forward!!!
The cool thing I have in mind to do with the pre-chamber is going to be so easy to adjust the volume, to dial in what I think I want for power…
This may in fact have to be dialed in for the .25 barrel I have coming from Walt…
If you purchased your tank from John, that is a 53 ci tank, the tank fit nice on the Condor, I am trying to get another 1 or 2 tank from him, but it’s out of stock more than 3 to 4 months now. I can’t find any similar tank like that 1 John was selling on his website.
If you could get a hold of the person who you bought the tank from, please provide info.

Rowdy that shot count from that larger bottle is pretty impresive!If you can get that regulator riged up you are going to have something!! Pretty good velocity with that short of barrel. You”ve got me thinking now.For the time being though I”m going in a different direction. With a 24” barrel and condor valve I”ve got more velocity than I need for best accucary. Think i’ll try a modified talon valve and see if I can get in the mid 900s with the monsters. I know it will get a better shot count.
Ah, thanks Jerry… I was in such a hurry to go shoot the Monsters from my Rapid that I have not checked into that yet… You know the Monsters shoot good from my Rapid as well… With my MKII and a 2700 fill this morning, it shoots the Monsters@ 927fps… Can adjust things up or down on that and have yet to try and top off the rifle to a 3K fill and get really into shooting these things as I should… Was to busy changing the scope on this rifle…
Maybe this afternoon I will get a little more time. The one thing I have noticed about these Monster – JSB- pellets is they don’t fit as snug in the bore as I would like… They have nice soft lead alloy and I am sure the air charge hitting them makes them profile and really feel the riflings well… My concern would be the actual pellet head not fitting as snug as it could be… They do shoot well from both the Condor SS and the Rapid MKII that is 24″ barrel…
Any rate the new Scope I put on my Rapid is a Millett 6-25X56 SF mildot… It seems to be ok, not at all what I would like to have, but something I can use for now… I have taken the Nikko Sterling 6-24X56 Nighteater and mounted it on the Condor SS; leaving the military peep sights in a box LOL… I really like shooting the iron sights though and I am going to have to come up with a rifle to mount and leave these on…
Now I got to go see what I can come up with for Crowpopper. He is wanting to try a heavier hammer, and I am sure I can find something around here that will work well enough to give him an idea if this the direction he needs to move… Then he can have one of our local gunsmiths to make him the real deal… My stuff around here is blacksmithed and basically chewed out stuff… LOL But for free I think it will help him to better understand what he needs…LOL

I shot all that from the new larger tank I setup here while back. I never have converted that tank over to CI… I know it to be 900cc… I need to go over to a tank manufacturing site and see exactly what this is… I forgot what the guy I bought it from said they were exactly. I wish I remembered who he was as well…
It was a long time ago and on the old talon forum. For the life of me though, I don’t remember his name or what exactly he told me about this tank…

Me too dude, and I have bout had this weather for a while LOL… I have had really good results before with the Kodiacs and the EJ’s at long distances… With the better results going to the Kodiacs if I had to pick…
The EJ’s just had so much fall to them, they were consistant and pretty good in the wind. The Kodiacs just seem to be a little better but never have put them on paper to prove anything yet… Its only been a feel by the seat of my pants at this point…
I just want to see which pellets shoot better at the longer distances… I know the Kodiacs do a really good job, but if the JSB-Monsters with a little more weight would get in there and do as good a job and how soft the lead is on these pellets, they would be a good choice to use… I just really wish the JSB’s would fit a little tighter in the barrel…
