Q:

Just bought my first BSA, a improved Mdl d 22

I fell in love with these long sleek rifles the first time I saw a picture of one.

They started making them over a hundred years ago and made them up to WW11, I think this one is around 1906 to 1916. It is also my first springer.

This one is a 22 has the saw handle stock, the tang peep sight and metal butt plate. Looks pretty nice from the pictures off of Gunbroker.

I used to make museun quality 1880’s gun leather, and ride daily in a copy of a 1880’s heiser saddle, I had in a long thin scabbard, I made for a 1895 Winchester in 303 brittish.

I have kept that old scabbard for years, long after selling the 1895.

I think I finially have something to put in it.

😆

Benneboy,

😆 I was kidding about the mods, I will replace the leather seals if need be or the springs if need be, there is a handbook reproduction on the Antique forum outlining how to do that, but no it will stay original.

Nice RC! I wouldn’t change a thing on it!

That’ so COOL! 😎

Sweet find RC!

You’ll need to rails on that sucker and a heat guard, I hear those suckers get hot after a few rounds. Don’t forget the forearm mounted pistol grip. 😆

Hoooooly Cow…. Nice Roach

Nice find Roach 😎

I figured out how to load a picture for you guys.

It is an underlever, tap loader, they were made under 12 ft pounds by the Brittish ditators for the Brittish victims.

I am thinking of adding a HPA tank, cutting off the stock and putting on a M4 stock and getting a LDC for it, then painting it with bedliner. 😆

No pictures yet, I have not got it delivered, but I think you can still view it at Gunbroker, it is item 191563284.

I asked on the Vintage air gun forum if I paid too much for it, and the poster who answered was a little miffed, he had been watching it every 10 minutes for the bidding to start, and I had just pressed the buy now button after taking the bids up from $250 to 5 bucks under the buy now price.

I had tried to buy it last month but I did not reach the minimum, so I did not take chances this time.

The things are so fucking elegant.

X2 I wanna see it…
