Q:

Just received my Condor complete outfit

Hello Everyone, My name is Tom. I joined your forum last week when I decided to purchase a Condor outfit. I have been reading all of the threads concerning this gun, mods, comments, custom parts, etc. I bought the whole $1500 outfit from Pyramid Air in 22 calibre. 95% of it came in today and I started putting it all together. Pumping up that first cylinder is a chore but worth it when the pellets start flying. I left the factory settings alone ( 6 power level ). I pumped the tank up to 2800psi as I’ve read here. I’m using Beeman silver stings. At 35yards the first pellet hit 6″ down and 1″ left of the orange dot, pretty impressive. After a series of shots I got it zeroed in. I have a lot to learn about this gun and wanted to thank those who put this information forum together. I love to plink.

One thing I did discovery today, that I wanted to share is the Pump Gauge. When I pumped up the first bottle, no problems. After 25 shots ( still going strong ) I was curious how many pump it would take to top it off. As I was pumping I heard a wisp, it was leaking around the gauge. After looking closer ( at the gauge ) I found out it was leaking inside the gauge, probably the tube or soldered joint. Luckily I ordered the scuba tank clamp which had a bigger diameter black gauge on it. I installed the black gauge and it was perfect. Took @ 10 pumps to get me back to 2800psi. I called Air Force, talked to Rachael and she is sending me a new black gauge. The regular 1″ chrome gauge is really a piece of crap. I’ve worked around pressure gauges for 31 years now, and that one is looooo quality. Anyway I will try to post some pics.

Ok and thanks for the advice.

great for low noise, at limited ranges / backyard plinking. also suitable for wintertime garage/basement shooting. 100’s of shots per fill when used with the micrometer tank. That is what i’d do.

I ordered a “green” Chrony on thursday from PyramidAir. Here is another question – In this package I got a 12″ barrel in 22cal. BUT it is on backorder. I was thinking about changing that to a 177 cal barrel for more options. What do you think ?

T.D., If you like to tinker with your setup or even if you don’t. Get a chrony.

More shots with less velocity.

You got that right Sharpshot…it’s addicting. In my package of various parts I also got a spare tank. This one is different than the one that came with the gun. I believe the one with the gun is a Hi flow and this spare is a micro meter tank. What is the difference between the two ? I am filling the micro tank now. If I leave the gun settings along ( and I expect to for awhile) and just change tanks, what will the result be ?

Welcome and glad you are enjoying your new Condor.

they should put warning labels on their boxes:

WARNING: SHOOTING THIS GUN IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE AND MAY RESULT IN FURTHER AIRGUN PURCHASES OR ARGUMENTS WITH THE MISSUS DUE TO HOUSEWORK AND OTHER ACTIVITIES NOT BEING COMPLETED. 😆 😆
