Q:

Laser Genetics Mount

I have a question for some of the Veterans. I just mounted my Nd3 to my scope and I’m having trouble with the windage adjustments. The knob is maxed out and I need another click or two to center the laser on the cross hairs. This mount should allow me to adjust in either direction but it’s way off to the right. Can this be fixed? Maybe by removing the knob screw and re-aligning it properly? I don’t want to screw this up. Here are some pics.

I bought it from SWFA. They have the mount from LG $10 bucks cheaper. Now that it is in back stock, LG will ship it to me direct.

Oh wow john. That’s very nice of you. If it’s not a burden I’ll take that offer and ship you the new one when it arrives in January.

Dr. where did you bought the 30mm mount?
this website?..http://www.lasergenetics.com/

I may have bought an extra 30mm mount from Genetics. I will look thru it tonight, If I find it, I will send it to you. You can use it in the mean time.

Who knows??? 😀 So far I am 1 for 2 on the originals. Let’s see what I get in a few weeks.

I was going to make a clone joke but refrained after the Atlas battle. We have seen too many cases now where the clone performs better than some of the originals or at least the legal accessories for the originals made overseas they sell here. 😳

Yea my spare mount is perfect. It’s actually a really nice mount. This 30mm I got is just flawed. I know exactly what’s wrong with it and how to fix it….if I could just open it. I just called SWFA….they are going to send me a new one. BUT…OF COARSE…it’s on back order. It might be 2-3 weeks before I see one.

Mine is nearly perfectly centered on the horizontal after I sighted it in originally. 😯 It has the weaver adapter and is a bit different mount. Guess it doesn’t help much. Its a bit dusty on the Deadpod with the flash on.

No chance for that. It will hit the turret and/or there won’t be enough meat on the light to hold it right. I’m going to take apart the spare one I have tonight….I might ruin it, but I’m going to tinker with it. If I can’t get figure something out I’ll have to return the mount and get a new one.

have you tried flipping the mount?

JP?

Well, I tried to shim it out. Not what I would prefer, but I did it for now. It allows me enough adjustment out to about 40 yards. After that it’s way right. I can still use it by diffusing the laser to a wide enough setting. I have 2 mounts. One is the standard 1″ mount that comes with the ND3. The other is the 30mm mount sold separately. You can immeadiately tell the 1″ mount is centered and has adjustments that shift it left and right. The 30mm mount doesn’t center unless the knob is turned to its extreme. This only allows adjustment to the right.

I think there is a way to take this mount apart and reset the knob screw to center.

Hi dr.

Find yourself a nice think business card, cut it up in strips as wide as you mount. If you want it to go right, shim on the left side. I would do it between the mount and the scope, rather than the ND3,

Let me know if that works,

John phan
