Q:

Latest bullpup cricket

Just seen pics of synthetic stocked .22 which has 2 bolts holding stock to action. Any ideas why the change?
Additionally why has weaver rail got 2 tiny ball bearings embedded in the top, close to the 2 fixing bolts?
Would welcome peoples thoughts.

Hi all

My cricket in .22 standard Synthetic PLB weighs without scope or mounts , 3.5 kilos (7.71 lbs). What is the weight of a cricket in .22 model WB ie walnut stock standard model? Checking dealer specs of weight gets different answers. Specifically how much less does the WB model , as above, weigh?

Having mounted my scope and mounts combo only weighs one pound less than my Airwolf, same scope!

If it’s a PLB then it has two screws on the stock. One of them does nothing for stock/action attachement .

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2.

Well, that clears that up or does it?
Went and bought that Cricket I saw in the shop.
Under product info page 2 22102012 says dd/mm/yyyy no argument there.
Full text “air rifle complies with standart regulations. Unless otherwise specified the air rifle is the standart model with the energy of 7.5j.the certificate was issued on 22102012″
Page 8 cert of receipt and packaging 2214 and 4 numbers, Air rifle is conserved and packed correspondingly to the requirements.

Date of manufacture 2- -06-2014
And a biro signature

All in English although purchased in France.

Has 3/4” clamp and 2 bolts in stock.

Love it but awaiting weaver 30 mm mounts and cleaning kit so other than a couple of chrono shots having to wait. Will clean barrel thoroughly.
Pal going to buy one too, maybe the lighter wooden stock.

Mine has an eight digit number. AFAIK, the number should start with 2214 if it’s a 22 manufactured this year.
The synthetic stock is really tough, almost indestructible, but weighs a lot.
Regards,

Well this is interesting. Mine starts with 2213 and the certificate is dated 22/10/2012 😯

It supposedly came in with the June 2014 shipment.

EDIT: I only checked the stamp on page 2. On page 8 of the manual is the Certificate of Receipt and Packaging and it has the serial # starting 2213
and Date of manufacture 14-05-2014 :geekn:

The only model , for now , that has the new two-bolt attachement and the wide clamp is the .25 WB.

Hi Asad and Hecklerjones

Thanks to both of you for information posted. Interested in .22 cricket bullpup standard. Saw one in local shop with synthetic stock and the clamp was indeed 3/4″ wide. Maybe 1″ clamp on the bigger calibres as you suggest.
Do you feel the synthetic stock lasting better than the wooden one ie hunting damage scratches water etc? The wooden version gun is also considerably lighter.
Cannot work out manufacturers number system , gun I saw had 22 plus 6 digits with a certificate dated 06/2014. Yet other gun pics show only 6 digits no prefix number, assuming the 22 denotes .22 calibre. Does your gun prefix with 25 then?
Trying to work out whether this is old stock or latest variation. Some countries/zones seem to have limited stocks.
UK for example non available.

On a different tack the 100 yard target evidence seems to suggest the 18 grain pellet less accurate then 15.9’s.

What a wealth of knowledge so quickly compiled on this website.

Please elaborate stiffening. Is synthetic stock all synthetic or has it other materials as well, ie wood, metal etc? Not sure whether to order the wood or synthetic model.
I assume like everyone else the barrel on your gun was very dirty.

It may be that Kalibrgun is using up the inventory of older scope mount/barrel clamps on the Compacts as they are less prone to movement of the action being shorter and lighter. The new .25 bullpups seem to all have the 1″ as opposed to 3/4″ wide clamps. I don’t see much need for the pistol grip screw in my Compact.

No my barrel was cleaned and tested by WWAG and this target was sent with the gun.

The synthetic stock is heavy but very durable. It seems to be made of heavy dashboard vinyl which may have a plastic core.

The latest Cricket has two bolts that secure the action to the stock. The previous single bolt versions had shifting POI problem in some cases, which apparently has been rectified with two bolts. Not only this, but the newer bottom rail is also wider and thicker and there are two additional bolts here to secure the cylinder. The Weaver scope rail is also detachable in this version. Hope this helps.
Would also like to know if someone has additional info on the subject.

Hi again

Re cricket stock bolt

The pistol grip bolt enters the stock and goes where? Please elaborate stiffening. Is synthetic stock all synthetic or has it other materials as well, ie wood, metal etc? Not sure whether to order the wood or synthetic model.

clearly shows 2 bolts in stock, 1 in pistol grip and second in fore end.

Thanks for info, so the gun in French video is that any different to other Cricket Bullpups?

Nope, mine is a synthetic Compact like the one in the middle of the table and was produced in May 2014.

The stock attaches to the action via the forend bolt. The other bolt in the pistol grip is for stiffening I believe.

Re Weaver dowel pins

Thanks for info, so the gun in French video is that any different to other Cricket Bullpups?

Those aren’t bearings in the top of the rail, they’re dowel pins to make sure the extended rail aligns with the rest of the weaver rail.

Can you post pictures of said Cricket?
