Q:

latest toy- reason i am selling my Talon SS

Bought this today. 60 ftlb (.22 cal) Air Ranger 80 with a custom stock, trigger. regulator, and shroud. the stock took a while to grow on me but i finally decided i like it- to each his own. owner has a lot of high end air rifles for sale and he claims this is not only the most powerful( not a surprise) but also his most accurate. we will see. enjoy some air gun porn!

1 other item of note. i sold a Ben. NP XL, RWS 36 with a cheap scope, and my Talon SS with a few extras. net cost to me to get rid of guns i RARELY shoot and no use to me was less than $200. makes things a lot more reasonable( no need in keeping the gun cabinet full of rifles that never get taken out and shot). my main concern is that the AR will be as advertised

the money this guy spent is his problem- not mine. rest assured that the selling price came no where near what he has spent on it. and income tax refunds are a wonderful thing! as far as the mods go, apparently he is a bit of a perfectionist who wanted everything just so. people here routinely spend well over $1000 to take a stock condor to a higher( and quieter) level and still end up with a rifle that is as long as a broom handle- to each his own i guess.

I certainly agree that it IS a BEAUTIFUL airgun, and I REALLY am liking that green stock..just SO SCHWEEEEET !! But, also, as was said, if ya gotta do all kinds of mods just to get it up on par with other guns, well it makes me stop and think 😕 😕 😕 One of the main reasons (the other being price) is the fact that those Daystates (most of them) are like WAAAAY too heavy for my liking…over 10 pounds with some scopes!!!!! My TSS weighs LESS than 6 pounds and that’s with a scope installed 😆
Having said all that…were I to come into a handful of “free money” I can just about be positive I’d have one of those computerized, electronic, gotta have keys to turn the thing on, type guns…VIGHLY accurate and very high shot count 😀 😀 😀
CONGRATULATIONS on you rpurchase guy, not trying to drag ya down….actually I’m sort of jealous…..I hope you enjoy it !!

Beautiful rifle but I can’t see it being more powerful than a well tuned Condor
kinda funny when a guy has to spend $600 on mods to a $2000 gun to get it to shoot as it should out of the box. now that IS funny!
Walter….

x2!

If I am going to drop the kind of coin it takes for a factory ranger…it had better be able to shoot the pimento out of a green olive at 50 yards without me having to do any modifications.

Nice rifle, no doubt, but I’ll stick to my AAA .25 100fpe rifle. Might not be spanish olive moa, but it’s close enough!

according to seller( who is the original owner), he had an airgun smith who is a friend modify the valve and hammer, and AoA modified the trigger. he also replaced the barrel with a new factory barrel as the original barrel wasn’t accurate enough to suit him, plus his friend fabricated a new barrel/tank pinch band as the original pinch band seemed to affect accuracy too. he says he has spent over $600 in modifications plus the cost of the custom stock and moderator. he claims that the internal modifications have essentially eliminated the twang and with the moderator, have REALLY quieted the gun down. we will see but if it is all true, this thing will be a powerful killing machine. the owner is also selling an FX Verminator and Fx Ranchero. he had a Theoben Rapid for sale but it is now sold. bad economic times for some great good buying opportunities for others i guess.

The hammer design in those things is GENIUS(is that the one wit the slingshot hammer im thinking of?)

I have the AR 80 ft/lb in .25 but i wanted to know how is that gun regulated ?
