Q:

Leading ?

K this is my problem iv tryed all that I can think of so iv got to ask.
I have a .25 lw barrle(af condor) . It was shoting ok but then It went to shit. I talked to tim and it had no crown. So I cleaned it gave it an 11 degree crown. First 4 shots then I got it sited in at 66 feet like I normaly do it grouped great for like 35 shots a coupple shots were my falt I kinda knew as I pulled the trigger. Then they went crazy ( went from like 1/4 to 1/2 witch I feel is normal depending on the day at my 66feet.) 3/4 to 1 1/2. Got pissed came in side because it got dark then decided to check ouy my gun when I d cooled off. I noticed the choke part had a bunch of lead buildup again witch I figured is my problem.
Now I hope u get the idea on were im at. My question is how can I slow the leading ?( 40 shot and its bad ) could that be my problem? I try my best to keep fills the same holf and all that crap so yeah . Should I vise it to take human out of the question,? Oh im shoting .25 kodiacs 24″ barrel

I like the brake free

x2 on the breakfree. ive put at least 5k thru my bird and only cleaned the barrel once just cause i figured i should…best pellet lube EVER… 😀

I ended up polishing it and it shots way better but iv noticed it like to hace an oiled pelley every 10 shots or so I plished the cron a bit more by hand and the groups stay way more tight. And now it shots the eunjin 43s pritty good now witchis strang because my shot gun use to give a better group then the 43. It has a different poi but its only a bit of. . Thanks everyone for your help

the rougher the bore the more the lead deposits, get the bore smoothed , or polished and add some lube and the leading will disappear, will not have to clean near as much, or further in between.

Brakefree I try that to day that is amazing lol I guess u can use it for all. Like I said my tophat and valve a one peace so tje only way it will come loose is to brake lol. And It did goo out to 120yards + but as of now I wont even try. And yes I know there will be some lead but this is way to much. Go tjey be moving fast enougt to kinda melt on there way threw the 24 “

There will always be some deposit or metal transfer when you rub a naked pellet against bare steel, try it, rub a pellet hard on the outside of your steel barrel. It may or may not be your accuracy problem though.

Same here on the Kings shooting far better than the Kodiaks, I get the same size groups your getting at 66 feet with Kodiaks, but I do it with Kings at 50 yards

Also check your tophat, if it gets loose, accuracy goes to hell quick.

Now to address the leading, I put a new tin of Kings into a zip lock bag with 10 or do drops of Breakfree, roll them around gently for a few minutes to coat the pellets, then I return them to the tin, a tip I got from WOK.

ON my Ranger 45 which does like to lead a lot with bare 45 cast bullets, I tried Moly spraying them, then tranmission fluid and now I use Johnsons past wax and get good results.

I would try the Breakfree first after checking the tophat.

Ill try the jb stuff wnen I can aford it. my top hat wont come loose its a onepeace . humm It seem to like the pellets for a wile then bam a ton of lead buld up. Iv never had a ny probles with .22 lws id go.to.clean them after 1000+ rounds and noting. That y im so puzzled. What the grain on those pellets beacuse any thing lighter ia going to go way to fast. Oh when I first got it I shot maybe 500 out then I noticed leading then clean it and bam more lead in a tenth of the shots . Thanks guys

My .25 does not like Kodiac’s either. Try JSB or Benjamin, mine likes the benji’s just a little more than the jsb’s.

Perhaps, clean bore..wash pellets to get excess lead dust off..check for loose tophat

.25 kodiacs drove me nuts too. My gun hates them. Try other pellets maybe yours doesn’t like em either. I shoot kings and benji domes very accurately for hundreds of rounds between cleanings.

Might be time to run some JB bore paste through the barrel to polish out the bore’s rough edges and or spots. It’ll get the lead out, also!
