Leaper SWAT 4x16x56 For Condor?
Leaper SWAT 4x16x56 For Condor? Has anyone used this scope, if so how did you like and do you Condor owners think it would be a good match for a Condor? Thanks.

I’ve been trying to get a scope replaced under Leapers warranty. I had to bug Pyramyd for the original receipt. The purchase was back in like January of this year. Between about 4 email exchanges Leapers wants to know all kinds of damn information as well as return of original box and paperwork. He finally said he’d cover it if I sent it in. What I didn’t tell him to begin with was that the damn illumination board in the side of the turret was screwed up when I received it anyway, yet I repaired it myself.
My first one was the same one you’re looking at, didn’t seem to hold zero very well, and the windage turret knob was just mushy with no real ‘clicks’ to it.
My second was a 8-32X56, and it had this black goober thing hanging from inside the tube obstructing a clear view in the scope. Sent it back.
Like I said, I was just unlucky, many people here like them, and the warranty works if anything should go wrong. Not trying to steer anyone away from Leapers.
As far as other suggestions, if you don’t need the higher mag, one of the most popular scopes here (everywhere?) seems to be the Bushnell Legend, which I believe is a 5-15. I like more mag, so I replaced my Leapers with a Nikko Sterling Nighteater, by other accounts, and my own experience, it’s a significant improvement from the Leapers. Here’s a link on mine in case you wanna take a look… good luck with whatever you choose.
My RWS 48 killed the Illuminated reticle on the 3-12×44 Leapers I had. Sent a MO for $15 to Leapers along with the scope and they replaced it under warranty.
What kind of problems did you have? Any other scope suggestions?
I’ve had 2, returned one, replaced the other. A few here will tell you that Leapers has questionable consistancy issues in the QC dept. I guess I was just unlucky getting 2 in a row that had problems… however, assuming you get one where everything is working as it should, they really are a decent scope for what you pay. The scope you’re interested in has many features usually found on scopes that cost more.
Thanks guys!
I’ve had 3 Leapers scopes. The only one that I thought had poor optics was a full size 3-12×44.
The 4-16×56 has decent optics.
Quite happy with mine. Good buy for the money. Doesn’t pick up quite as much light early morning/late evening as some of the top line scopes. Sunday, shooting up till dark, I could still see my 50yd silhouette targets through the scope when I could barely tell their existence without, so not bad.
I find the lighted reticle a help at dusk but as it gets darker outside even the lowest setting is too bright and imparts glare making it difficult to see the target.
close range parallax adjustment and FOV are good.
So you would recomend it? How was it for close in shots? I was worried a 4 min magnification might be to much in close. Also I have read some people don’t like the Leaper optics.
I had one, I liked it.
