I don’t understand the value of an etched glass reticle?

In the old days metal reticles were often used. The problem you had with wire that thin is that it is very prone to shock damage. Over time even just normal use would often results in them failing. Etching the reticle direct to the glass makes it almost indistinguishable in practical terms. Etching also allows you to have any shape reticle you fancy.

My dear Zip-loc,

Thank you for that information. I am now less stupid than previously.

Being honestly ignorant, I don’t understand the value of an etched glass reticle?????

I cannot personally testify concerning this particular scope, however I have heard good things from those who have looked through it. I have on several occasions used the standard length Leapers SWAT scopes and can say they have very good optics, most especially for their price range. The etched glass reticle is a plus. This scope is on my short list for my next optics purchase.

By the way, I own two Compact SWAT scopes at present. The optics on the standard length SWAT scopes are noticeably clearer. You will not go wrong with this scope.
