Leather pellet holder

I had the Phillips pellet holder, and really found it wanting.

I had a 22 Condor so I ordered it orginally in 17 as I had read that you wanted to get one that was one caliber smaller to keep the pellets from falling out.

That dog didn’t hunt.

After converting my rifle to 25 the pellets were falling out faster than I was putting them in.

So being an old leather butcher, I decided to replace the top of the Phillips with a small square of leather with holes just right for the 25, then mold the leather after glueing it on to give more purchase on the pellets.

Along the way, I just decided toditch all the Phillips gear and glue it directly to the tank. I soaked it in rubbing alcohol, it dries so much faster, and then did a simple tooling around each hole. Then pressed it with a smooth metal hammer head to push the cratered holes flat.

It works about 15 times better than the Phillips, when the holes get loose, I will just redo it with the hammer head and rubbing alcohol.

Simple fast and serviceable.
