Lefty Madrid
🙁 Anybody heard from or about Lefty’s Bull Pup kits lately? 😯 Guy took orders then went underground. Lot’s of talk about making a quality kit for the Mrods which I fell for and sent him money… 😳 A few up dates to begin with to sucker me in then GONE….. 🙄
I’m not crying just kicking myself in the ass for getting pulled in… 😈

there is a santa clause,Virginia 😀 😆 😆 😆
 Hey guys I just got an e-mail from Jessy “Lefty”Loreto. He’s alive and well (now) beendown in the back but going again. Report was he’s been work on the MR2 but the MR1 is closer to being finished. Real photo’s coming sometime 🙄
Good news is he has surfaced and there is still a good chance of getting my prepaid kit. 😀 Maybe he has gotten the word that some communication will go a long ways toward keeping customers happy and not looking for a hanging tree… 🙄
I sent him two emails last night.
***Here’s the deal…Lefty has been down for a week with a bad back. Neither Lefty nor Richard are communications wizards, and running a start-up from scratch business, has been a learning experience for both of them. Lot’s of delays they didn’t anticipate because they are hobbyists, not venture capitalists`.
The deal is still on, and two prototypes are near completion, the MR1 (Marauder) and MR2 (AA200). When done and measured, that’s when the CNC can can be scheduled to do the work, and begin actual production.
There it is. Short and sweet as I received today via email. Both guys are hitting this project hard, and hope to have proof of life soon. That’s all I know.
Stay tuned…it ain’t over till the fat lady sings!
H 😯 😯 T
well I see lefty has left the sight.when something looks to good it usaully is.but great cartoons lol 😥
There are a lot of pieces of shit out there. I was taken for for over 3k worth of stuff from a former member who I had done business with in the past. Hope it works out for you.
I think Bleece,Mike,AGofT and I are all on the same page. Silence is bad very bad under these circumstances. If ‘Lefty” has a production problem just let us know,I’ll understand and cut him some slack a lot of slack to be forth coming and be truthful. I still want a quality BullPup kit for my Mrod and do not mind waiting. I do mind waiting when I was lead to believe the kit was close to being shipable and he was taking orders NOW 😀 .
Communicate, communicate, and communicate some more and keep the folks depending on you and supporting your effort to bring this product to market. That’s all I ask. 😎 I’m on the Edgun list so I know about being patient. It builds character :banghead: Of coarse getting a new CRICKET tomarrow is helping with my patients 😯 Eat your heart out AGofT 😀
I sent an e mail to Lefty asking for update. Will post as soon as I hear back
dc
— I’m with you. LeftyMadrid does and still has the responsibility of communicating.
I did not describe my point well, I guess. But my main point was that there was information out there about LM, at least a trail, should it be a case of absconding with customers’ funds. Sounds like there’s confidence that Lefty is legit, and that its his silence that is the problem. He thus has an obligation to communicate, I wholly agree. For some reason when I saw the post I felt optimistic that 1OldGuy2 wasn’t being taken. Not being treated very well–yes.
No rudeness taken at all.
Bleece, not to sound too rude but “ cut the guy some slack” – bull Sh!t. Whether or not the kit becomes reality is yet to be known, but it’s the mans Integrity that should be in question. In my books you don’t take a person’s money then drop out of sight – Period! Communication is cheap and quick. I’m old school where my word / hand shake is my contract and more important than the transaction. If starting out new, taking money and not turning over a product you have damn well be keeping the communication open. Just my .02 worth as you gave yours.
This is a post I made from back in Oct 4 2012
I’m going to repeate myself for those that missed this the first time.
Does anybody NOT agree with my observation??
How can you offer a product to mass market and NOT mass produce?
I was all excited when he announced the product. I knew it would not be ridiculously over priced, and wait time would only be…… how long?
I may not have my Marauder that long. I’m one of those that don’t keep a gun for more than six months.
If you were opening up a donut shop, would you wait for customers to come into the store before you started up the fryer?
What I don’t understand is why is it going to take three to five months? In my small mind, when you decide to manufacture a product you should have a business plan.
Part of that plan would be to have inventory on hand when you turn on the “open for business” sign.
These are CNC machined, right? Isn’t this type of machining supposed to reduce manufacturing time as well? I could understand 90 to 150 days if they were hand cutting each stock with wood chisels and a rasp.
Which brings up the demand question? Just how many Marauder owners want to do a conversion? 500? maybe? I’ve seen some ridiculous “how do I hook up my nail gun compressor and charge my M-rod?” type of questions posted on the yellow.
I don’t think those guys are candidates.
First, if I was Lefty, I’d have plenty of inventory on hand BEFORE I went to market. Second, hide and watch, Crosman will come out with a bullpup Marauder. And if they’re smart, they will make it juuuuuust enough different you won’t be able to retrofit the current action. The Shot Show 2013 is four months away.
At the end of the day, I’m just a little disappointed in the delivery time that’s all.
Lefty may be busy with orders and just not checking his communications. How long have you been waiting?
Oct 13, 2012 entry from “Jessie” or “Leftyshooter” at another airgun forum:
“I’ve noticed is some people out there are so negative, quick to speculate, speaking without knowing. Well, it’s definitely going to happen. I would like to share that. The project is totally under way, engineers, and programmers, finding the “time of tool cutting” can be redone, and therefore price of this Kit can come down. This all takes time, money, and endless sleepless nights. Just to get it right. And for someone who is trying their very best to get a quality, precision BPK out there… Please cut a little slack. Be patient. All good things come with time. I can’t mention any names, but a heavy hitter (which we all know) will be doing “The review” on the MR1! This will help show people all they need to see and know about the design. And shipping will be far less than 5-6 weeks!! But need to re-program time management/tooling/cutting.”
It’s hard to believe that, given that there is an actual human face—video and photo– out there associated with him or someone claiming to be him, that he is not legitimate. So I’m wondering if any of this information matches anything you know based on your contact with Lefty so that you can surmise what the real situation is. On the face of it, he is sensitive and overwhelmed by his new venture—On the face of it:
Information:
This is according to information gleaned from his “Lefty Madrid” persona on the Internet—I repeat, “persona”, since it’s possible that it could be fictional and it only goes back 14-15 months.
Name/Some history:
His name is Jesus Loreto Nieto. He is 51 years old. Lives near Pasadena, CA specifically Monterey Park. He has three children. He allegedly is from Madrid, Spain. He can write Spanish well, and uses European Spanish type expressions. He lived in Spain—or Europe– till the age of or for fifteen years, given that he went fishing in various locations all over the Continent during that period. He lived in Montreal, Canada for about 7 years after that. Goes by the English nickname “Jessie”, a common practice with Hispanic speakers who’s name is “Jesus”. His Spanish nickname, also derived from “Jesus”, is “Chuchi”, which is very European as opposed, for instance, to “Chucho” (ending in “o” instead of “i”) used in Mexico.
Sensitive:
Cries tears at the the memory of his world famous Spanish flamenco guitarist stepfather, El Niño Ricardo. He says, though, that his biological father’s name was José Loreto Reyes. The Spaniard Paco De lucia, a present day world-renowned master guitarist, is among his childhood acquaintances and remains on familiar terms with Lefty.
Gushes about his S200 rifle over and over to leading airgun personalities (i.e., Steven Archer) before and after converting it into a bullpup; he even asks Ed to confirm that his Edgun is really better than his prized S200. He uses carbon scuba tanks to fill his 1.77cal S200T, 1.77cal S200 bullpup, and 22cal S200 with an FX smooth twist barrel; he believes that one should stick to two airguns and get to know them inside and out. Right-handed air rifles present an inconvenience to him because he is left-handed.
Though he lives in Southern California, his LefyMadrid wedsite uses a Scottsdale, Arizona server (maybe he doesn’t live in California anymore).
LeftyMadrid quote:
“Careful there with the Law, if you[‘re] starting out, do things right and it will be much better in the long run.”
I’m still thinking Lefty—Jessie—Jesus is just not managing his venture as well as he would like and the self-protective psyche (I know– getting pop psychologist) of withdrawing and not communicating with those depending on him may have taken a hold of him. But he knowing that money is involved, maybe he wants to first straighten out whatever the problem is so that he has some answers about where he’s been or what he’s been doing for when he reappears. Hard to tell what the fact is.
Don’t cry yet, though.
According to Hoot he has a kit on order too and will make a statement soon enough.
And airgunsoftulsa believes that, at the end of the day, it’s really just a lack of beginning inventory and lack of adequate business plan that is the reason for the long wait.
One of these days he might come up for air some place. Had a good line of BS and a great idea for the Mrod. The Mrod for the price is a great air rifle but they are about the same size as a WWII training rifle. I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that “Lefty” shows back up and sends money back or has a few kits he sends out to us “chumps” that sent him money. 😳
He’s got to be out there somewhere. Hello Lefty Hello!!!!!!! 😈
That guy made one bullpup on a AA S-200 & he got somone to buy it.
Then he be came a expert & was going to sell bullpup kits for people.
The way the guy was selling himself, I could tell he was full of it. 😯
It’s one thing to bite off, more than you can chew. Well then send people’s money back to them. I have had peolpe ask me to build kits, it is just too much work for the money to do, with out a cnc machine to crank out the parts.
I hope Hoot did not give the guy any money, I know he wanted a kit from him.
I’m not crying just kicking myself in the ass for getting pulled in… 😈
Sorry 1OG2. Hate the stories about bros getting fucked by evil doers. Seems like Lefty’s the one who should be getting his ass kicked. Just gotta hope he resurfaces and you get your kit, or karma kicks in and Lefty gets what he deserves.

Happy for you Oldguy. Communication buys a little patients and goes a long way. In the future I hope he keeps everyone in the loop.
