Q:

Lefty with questions

Ok i currently have a talon in .177 and looking for a .22 for feathered rats. I know of the marauder and vulcan but are there any other pcp options? I have a 4500 great white tank from joe b and i need to start using it. Its been about 1.5yrs since i have really used my talon. I want to get back in it with a .22 cal and maybe a shoebox compressor. Is the cricket convertible to left hand? Any other compressors on the market similar to it? Thanks for any help im the only person in my group of powder burners who thinks pcp guns are fun.

Ok I will look at the taipan mutant as well.

If I was a lefty…

There is only 2 bullpups I’d be looking at…

The taipan mutant. And the vulcan…

Both reversable cocking mechanisms left to right.

The mutant is a side lever…. on the action similar to cricket….

And the vulcan has a mid bolt.

deadeye , you like variety and you want something in the .22 cal . I agree that if you go with the Vulcan I don’t see how you could do any better than that .
I’ am also a lefty and I have a new .25 Vulcan comming this Friday from Tony of Talon Tunes . I prefer the .25 cal. because it has for me the best killing
power for everything that I wish to eradicate . The .22 cal. is also a very good caliber choice it will give you a wider range of pellet grains to shoot and
at a lower cost than .25 cal. The Vulcan as it is designed as a bolt action repeater and the bolt can be switched for either a lefty or righty to shoot ,
just ask Sir Ville for he has stated many times his .22 cal. Vulcan is a real shooter .

Thanks for the responses so far. As far as getting a .22 barrel…… i like to have variety. Im leaning towards the vulcan myself.

Cricket is NOT convertible… Wish they were! I have 2 of them a .22 and .25 AND I’m a lefty too. My next one will be a Vulcan. It is convertible from right side bolt to lefty operation, plus it is a bolt forward bullpup. I love my crickets, but they are cumbersome to operate for a lefty. I started with a Condor SS in .22 and bought a .25 barrel. I think you can easily do the same with your Talon, only I think you’ll need a different tank or at least valve to get the power out of the talon that the .22 barrel is capable of delivering.

There is also a new series of guns coming out from American Air Guns here in the states that are lefty by default… the owner is a lefty too. I’m sort of waiting on them to hit the market to see what they’re like.

The one I’d stay away from is the EdGun… I tried to get one that had the left hand bolt and was basically insulted by Ed for even asking… Further, if you read the Edgun forum on here, you will find that, yes they are fantastic guns, but shame on you if you need parts. Just look at all the threads of folks beggin’ for spare magazines… Tony at Talon Tunes does a good job with them as best he can…

The other possibility is the Benji Marauder. It has a bolt that can be switched to left if you want.

Why not get a new .22 barrel for the talon?

Also recommendations of where to buy. Preferably someone who takes paypal and who to stay away from. I have seen bad reviews of someone i almost ordered from and now i am lost. Thanks again.
