Q:

Leshiy 0352 before humma arrives

Had a bit spare time today with the Leshiy weather was great for a change so I thought I would run her over the chrony before the small plenum humma reg I ordered arrives.
I had turned the Leshiy up begining of the winter for a pest control job and just never got round to checking out the ft/lbs, I knew the shot count was at about 35 before hitting 100 bar pressure but was quite amazed at the FPS against the shots I am getting
Will be interesting to compare this data against the new reg once installed and all set up

Hi Guys
Just got Leshiy going with the new 12ft/lbs regulator running at the same power 18ft/lbs with a 250mm barrel,
this power level suits my hunting needs mostly ratting and have managed to get 64 quality shots from a 300 bar fill the reg set at 110bar
I’ve a new 350mm .22cal on the way so should possibly be able squeeze some more on the shot count and hopefully reduce the HST slightly or would it be better to adjust the reg pressure ? don’t want any more power than 18ft/lbs

The 800 number is purely based on those numbers you provided, it is a fine tuning thing.

Without regulator that piece wants to run at around 800. So logically it makes sense to set the reg there.( or just a wee bit higher for more shot-count) currently the reg is a bit too high or when we look at it the opposite way the hammer is too low. As you wish.

It sounds like you are happy with the performance already. I see you are going to detune sub 12. You will be fine with shotcount. The same principles apply there too you want to eliminate any trending in the power output. Let us know if and how they stabilised the power at low pressure in the cylinder.

It is a shame this gun has no anti bounce device, you would squeeze a lot more shots out of it, even more than having a huma by further lowering the reg setting with at new 12 power level. But no anti bounce device.

I have an ex bsa scorpion barrel on one of my hw100s, outperforming the original brand for sure :8:

I would interpret the shot string as follows: That thing won’t really need a new reg but slight adjustment instead. Wondering why the maker won’t provide you with clear instructions on that is puzzling.
Looks like your gun would be happier and is capable of making power at around 800 with current Hammer spring tension.

shot-count will not change much since over 30 it is off reg anyway.

you can achieve it both ways either lowering the reg and leaving the HSt alone. Or just turning the HSt higher leaving the reg alone.

Do that, retest make sure the output is flat over the fill. Then install the huma and compare after setting that up similarly. Interested in SD. Is the 14.3s causing the up and downs or is it the gun mechanics?

I started contributing on online forum few years ago when I got stranded with no help whatsoever from manufacturers until some one on a different obscure forum helped me out. I think I am not far off from paying back my debt.

Thanks Kris really appreciate that advice I’ve had the Leshiy just over a year now and haven’t really tried tuning to get optimum efficiency until recently, it does shoot well with the accupells and they are very good for pest control rats, rabbits etc

I don’t really want to go any heavier pellet wise at present, I know that I can defiantly get 800 FPS by adjusting the HST on its own as it has plenty adjustment left and I don’t really want to mess with reg as I don’t have a reg tester to set it up correctly

On your experience with the Leshiy is that the way to go 800 FPS and still get around 30 consistent decent shots?

The reason I went for the 12ft/lbs humma reg I was originally intending to fit a .20 cal 350mm barrel and play around with shot count for general plinking fun shooting with the boy’s but struggling to acquire one at present, I am though seriously considering having an old bsa .22 barrel that’s lying around Turned down and cut to 350mm any advice on that would be great is it worth doing??
