Q:

Logun Solo .20 group (the guns coming along nicely)

Recently had my Logun Solo converted over to .20 cal by simply having a LW .20 cal barrel machined to fit the Solo’s action. Since the gun has been changed over i am thoroughly enjoying it. I absolutely love it more now than when it was in .22 cal. I think the gun had some clipping issues with the FACTORY SHROUD. So to alleviate that issue, i did a simple barrel swap and got rid of the factory BARREL/SHROUD combo. She is simply a JOY to shoot now and even without the factory shroud on it anymore, i actually like the little POP from the muzzle that she has now. Its not really loud at all.

Some stats:

Ammo – 14.3 gr .20 cal CP’s
Barrel Manuf. – Lothar Walther .20
Barrel Length – 23.5″
Velocity – 975 FPS+

Pic of the Solo .20 in its hunting guise:

50 yrd – 5 shot Dime sized group:

This pic just shows that i would have hit a dime at 50 yrds……5 times!!:

And for you guys out there that LIKES or LOVES the .25 i will say this…….THE .25 at MATCHED SPEEDS (same velocities as other calibers, not same FPE) OUT SHOOT all other small calibers. I have heard things over the years that, the .177 and .20 and .22 are flatter shooting than the .25 and are more accurate than the .25 (n a springer maybe!)….i say….”HOGWASH”. The .25 still reigns supreme in the field. Accuracy is the only slight issue cause the .25 simply makes a bigger hole. So the group might be bigger by measurement but, the CLUSTER of the PROJECTILES are still just as TIGHT as the smaller projectiles. The HOLES are simple BIGGER. While i do LOVE the .20 i found that with the slightest breeze over about 5-7 MPH the .20 pellet really moves side to side and distant shots become harder. Not with the .25. While this is no NEW discovery to most, i can now appreciate really seeing it for myself in the field as this weekend proved.

Stay tuned for a video of my sniping session with the two guns. Well, actually 3 guns.

Thanx gentlemen. I am having too much fun with her.

nice upgrade.

Tofazfou, great looking gun, great shooting, and some great information….Looking forward to the video……

Love the posts, Ced. That is OCD at it’s finest…haha…. if you ever post guns for sale, they will be a buy for sure. One would know that it’s tweaked to it’s utmost potential after you’ve had hold of it.

I like the .20 out to 40 yrds very accurate and these pellets fly fast. I use the jsbs and the ej’s,I shot alot of crosman’s and they shoot very well also.

Good Looking Rig!
