Q:

looking for a gun rest

I have been looking for an inexpensive gun rest to use in sighting in my Talon SS. I noticed that a lot of them on the market look like the tank will not fit well in the back support. Any suggestions?

MTM makes a fairly nice one for very little. About 30 bucks at Academy.

Patrick, keep us informed. I’d especially be interested in seeing how you use a welder. I’ve got a couple repairs to do but no welding skills…..yet 😆

Thank Guys for the reply’s. After looking at the one Hotrod made, it looks like I now have a very good reason to hit harbor freight and get a small welder. I have the skill to make one, just not the tools. I think I would like a fold up travel rest, Gotta work on that tool problem…..

Some things are hard to find because of different terminology.
Here is a simple but good build by HotRod:

Some “bench rests” have an elevation screw that would be real handy.

ever thought of making one? there are some pretty nice homemade rests in the archives, just have to do a little digging to find them.
