Q:

Looking for a new muffler for my .25, any ideas?

Hey guys I’m looking (as the title says) for a new moderator for my cricket. Seeing Ernest’s post of his custom cricket with the Hugget mod kinda fired me up. You see I have the sneaking suspicion that the factory mod is slightly clipping, first off the poi changes big time between the mod on and off and I get way too many flyers even after a cleaned barrel. However it is really hard to tell as accuracy without the mod is not discernibly different…. so idk.

But anyway I would like to try something different. It would be nice if it was a short setup as noise is not very important to me, and I would prefer a short less quiet mod than a uber long, super quiet one. I would also prefer it to screw on (either by the factory threads or by 1/2 x 20 using wwags adapter) NC’s stuff seems nice but a tad to expensive for my taste :?. If you guys have no ideas Im thinking about contacting TKO http://www.tko22.com/ and seeing if he can rig something up for me…

Let me know if you guys know of anything I could look into, thanks and cheers

I actually hadn’t considered the weight aspect of the shroud affecting poi, it sounds stupid but I thought the common consensus in the ag community was that a good shroud, mod, LDC etc. should not change poi at all. What your saying makes sense though and I guess the POI shift the shroud causes is not really a big deal as long as accuracy is consistent from day to day.

Yeah my reg has been adjusted to 110 bar for a month or two now, for a while I had the velocity set at 880 fps but for some reason consistency at that velocity was not as good as it was at faster speeds and as a result my 100 yard groups went from about 1″ to 1 and a 1/2″. So I just now readjusted the velocity up to 917 fps and just from a couple of shots over the chrony consistency does seem a bit better…

I still think it would be nice to try out a different mod as I don’t really like the looks of the factory one, and I would like to save a couple inches, but in the end it is not super important…. I was just kinda curious ๐Ÿ™„

Well – PM me and i’ll put you in contact with an UK “bloke” / “lad” who makes absolutely fabulous stuff out of carbon fiber. You choose the length and add-ons.

Yes, POI is always changed when I switch original moderator to HW moderator.

First of all the POI will change between attached shroud and without it – due itยดs weight. Second – i suspect that you need to reduce the reg pressure to get it shoot without wild fliers. I had to put mine down to 107B (with a reg tester) to get it shoot really well at 280 mps / JSB 25.4gr. The reg is set all too high at the factory and it will not shoot at its best with that setting. Far from it actually.
