Looking for opinions on CO2 pistols
Hey guys I want to get a co2 pistol that I can shoot in the garage with my girls (9 and 12). Nothing fancy, just for knocking tin cans around. I want it accurate enough to hit tin cans out to 30 feet. I am thinking bb’s rather than pellets but I am open to either. Adjustable rear sight would be nice too. Whatever you buy, MAKE SURE ITS ACCURATE!!
Nothing will turn off a new shooter more than a crap gun.
Forget what it looks like, make sure its a shooter….
Take our Toe Popper for example… Nothing to look at, but by all accounts he sure does perform…. 😯 😯 😆

CO2? Unless your going for bulk CO2 I would stay away from CO2, too many things to have to be able shoot. I like a pistol and pellets as the necessary equipment, maybe throw in a pellet seater….
How about a single pump IZH 46M? It’s a bit more expensive but well worth the $$.
Very accurate and easy to shoot… I bought a used one recently and I am VERY impressed, makes my TalonSS feel like I am shooting a smoothbore civil war era rifle. This little pistol rocks in the accuracy department and since it is a target pistol it isn’t that high power and combine that with some lead pellets and your not looking at possible dangerous ricochet of steel bb’s. It is accurate with any pellet I have put in it so far.
I bought a HB177 from Benjamin and it is a total piece of crap. I know $300+ for a pistol is a lot but two $150 pieces of crap will never shoot as well as one HQ pistol…

Thanks guys, but I am thinking something along the lines of a traditional handgun. Multishot, semi auto, maybe with a blow back on the slide. You are right about the bb’s I think I will go pellets. This one is more than I thought about spending but I like it and it has great reviews:

also i forgot to mention you can get a customshop 2300 or 2240 with names laser etched in it for them and as said go with steel breech if budjet allows
for a basic gun your looking at 60 bucks and then going cusrtom shop you can go right up to 300 depending on cal and options you want
Going to have to agree both on the not shooting BBs and to run with the Crosman 2240. If its in the Budget order it with a Steel Breech and the LPA or Williams rear adjustable sight. Stock trigger suck badly but can be cheaply upgraded to a Stace or TKO. Stock grips are going to be fine for the girls me thinks.
The great thing about the 22XX is you can upgrade them in all manner of ways. Have 3 different customs I put together including PCPs in .22, a .25 & 9mm with DAQ uppers as well as a Bulk fill CO2 .25 built by Mountain Air. Probably the most upgradable AG out there with the AF line running dead heat close on its heels in 2nd place.
I agree with crowpopper shooting bb’s inside a garage doesnt sound like a good idea. The 2240 or something like it in .177 is the way to go.
never tried that but i would steer away from bbs as they can ricochete easily
you can buy daisy wascutter pellets at walmart for likr 3 bucks and they wont bounce plus be more accurate
you can get a 2240 stock low power and pretty accurate and if you feel like modding it add an hdd for more shots
plus as the girls get older they can have you mod the gun exactly how they want
maybe pink grips or something

Dont shoot me guys but the Gamo Compact looks like a nice gun,never got the chance to shoot it ,i was wanting a quality pistol for target practice, had to have a target trigger and sights.and i thought about getting one ,
But i traded for a RWS M. 6-g that took care of all my target pistol duties .now this one will shoot 1/4” at 25 yards on the bags.
I bought one of these for my son and am very impressed with the accuracy ,never put on sand bags but you can wear out tin cans at 20 yards with it.
. Only problem is the trigger rotates the magazines cylinder on the cocking stroke of the trigger.Which on double action makes it pretty long
,but when you cock the hammer and shoot single action you can pull thru the cocking action with the trigger and at the end you have a half ass decent pull,once you get the hang of it. Pretty fun to knock over a bunch of cans as fast as you pull the trigger.
Buy a bunch of cheap Daisey pellets and co2 if you get it , you will go Thru alot.

Had one of these too , and it was basically the same thing as the crosman but it was metal and the slide opened cooler. slide straight back. and felt like a 1911 empty as far as weight.
I traded it because the action worked the same as the crossman.but it was not any more accurate.but it was a higher quality gun.
