Q:

Looking to regulate my .25 condor SS

Hello,

I have a fully modded with Talon Tunes parts .25 SS. I am currently slinging out 31 grain rat snipers and 34 grain JSB’s right at 910-915 fps. i would like to possibly regulate my rifle. i understand that regulators aren’t really ideal for the power level i’m at (55-60 fpe) but i would like to see what has worked for you guys. I do know that the drop down adapter i have does increase my plenum volume. my rifle is equipped with the talon tunes drop down adapter, talon tunes, valve, top hat, and carbon fiber tank. talon tunes heavy hammer, and Tony’s hand lapped .25 barrel. i was thinking a 2500-2600 psi regulated output. i fill to 2800 and shoot down to 2400, for about 12-15 flat shots. if i could regulate to this same speed, i would be able to fill to 3500 or so PSI, and hopefully get 25+ shots at the same power. lengthening the rifle is a non issue. please fill me in!!!

Post links to the videos please. I love my nv scope i have but have to use a camera and a mounting bracket to do videos. If i could just use one scope that records videos that would be worth its weight in gold.

I had the 1st gen ATN and liked it. I sold it as soon as I ordered the 2nd gen. Should have it any day.

I have 3 Altaros: one for a regular AF tank, one for a talonP tank, and one for the marauder

After installing and using these jewels I have realized I should have bought these since the beginning.
They are awesome and I will never buy a PCP without also getting a regulator.

It is amazing how well they work.
While it was fun tuning for the damn bell curve, you can’t beat the sweet consistency of a regulator!

Cheers
Chris

Good to hear about that reg setup.

How do you like that nv scope? Thats the atn correct? How are the videos? I have been looking at them alot. For the price it looks to be a great bang for the buck scope.

I regulated mine and love it. I have the CF tank which is a hair shorter than factory. The consistency is insane. I am out of town right now but when I get back, I will post my shot string for you.

BTW, I am running the Alteros.

Regarding the paranoia, I’ve ordered multiple regs from Altaros. One time I did have a minor issue and I found the customer support to be better and faster than most I get stateside. The only difference was a bit longer in shipping out a replacement part.

To date, I have 4 or 5 regulators from Altaros. No worries there.

That said, I still think for a .25 Condor your best bet is a Talon Tunes adjustable top hat. I have a regged Talon in .22 and a regged Talon in .177. My Condor wears the TT tophat and I can use normal pellets choked down to around 50 fpe or I can open it up and use heavy slugs at over 110fpe with good consistency.

I do not have any experiance with the alteros regs but do like the concept of it being in the tank. If you couple it with the cf tank and drop down adapter you would be a little over the stock tank set up. I am a little paranoid about ordering from internet sources so did not order one. Not saying anything bad about them just my paranoiya. Dont think i spelled that one right. Lol

Gami,

Here’s a post with a photo of TTTA and Altaros regulator. The combo works well if the LOP is not too much.

Here is the numbers I got when I reg’d my 22 cal condor. Was very consistant with the 2300 psi reg but there was just not enough plenum area. You gun will be crazy long with the tank adaptor and a reg with adapter. I would imagine the stack would be

tank, reg and adapter, talon tunes adapter then valve. At least you wil have a gage before and after the reg so you can see what is in the tank and what is in the plenum after the reg.
