Looks like
We will be seeing used shoebox compressors for sale at a cheaper rate soon enough…. Then. Edgun prices will plummet too. Probally bring down most bullpup prices. (Edgun cause it looks similar) Guess they had a good run while it lasted.
Thanks to the raptor and the P12 comming soon. Oh. We gotta thank ted too!!

Suggested Chinese names for the P12: “Harbor Freight Tack Driver” “Mi Shu U Ini” “Yellow Vildo”
or possibly….”Whi Boi Shu Bu’s Eie”
….or not! Just a few thoughts.

Comes down to supply and demand and alternatives available. Service comes into play too. All of these variables are working against all Bullpup manufactures. It’s good for us, bad for them. Ed will alway be a niche custom built manufacturer, but that’s what I like about the Edgun.
If he could up his game on service and parts, then he could maintain his higher price point.
Shooting 10.34 grain JSB at 850fps…
My USFT in 177 get’s 125 shots from 1600psi to 1000psi and it has no reg.
My Edgun in 177 gets 175 shots from 3000psi to 1000psi and it’s reg’d.
Hmmm…
4.8 psi per shot (no reg) vs. 11.4psi per shot (with reg). :dito:
I think the 177 Edgun could do with a smaller regulated air chamber or something. :confusedn:
Edgun prices drop?
Yeah, the cheaper Cricket made those Edgun prices fall like a stone.
MRod prices made those AA prices fall.
FX sure made those Steyr prices fall.
🙄
Prices across the board for stuff not made in China has gone up. Shit even the prices for stuff made in China has gone up some.
Idiots have been saying the Edgun and other high end prices will drop for years and the prices have ONLY gone up as more crap has been introduced into the mix.
Used prices are based on use and perceived value with regards to availability. Only way Edgun and other high end air rifle prices will fall is if newer models replace the old ones and even then the high end rifles have an uncanny ability to hold their value. An low priced Edgun R2.5 still pulls $1200 at close to four years old, which is close to 75% of it’s original retail price.
An MRod on the other hand falls like a stone, new $470, three months old $370, that’s 25% in only a few months…
Just because it’s cheap and sells (read popular) doesn’t mean it’s any better. I offer Justin Bieber as proof that popular music does not equate to good music.
Shit you can buy Crosman and Gamo at WalMart… What does that tell you?
Cheap, cheap, cheap.
And the MRod is a decent rifle for the money, great rifle for the money actually…
But let’s see how you do with a stock MRod against my stock USFT & Edgun (FX, AA, Styer, Anschutz, etc for that matter) at a field target match or a benchrest match. No contest what so ever. 😉
Everybody knows I am an Ed’y junkie and slurp the koolaid but if there is any downward price movement coming in the near future it will hurt the crickets first just due to the production volumes compared to the Edguns. Lower production of any higher end product = higher prices than similar items made in greater volume. As long as Ed continues with low production and remains the exclusive little small company that started it all, style of presence, his prices will hold better than than the competition. Don’t get me wrong, I never sell so prices coming down would be fine with me, I’d just have more guns…. The P-12 sounds much better than I had anticipated so off to a great start, it is going to be big big big with high volume and immense aftermarket accessories.
I say they call it the ” WINGMAN ” seriously, well liked, high quality, tenacity for continuous improvement !! … why not… Gives the impression of your ideal partner in the field.
Snow peak is the name of the Factory that makes the bullpup not the name of the pup itself… it is formally labelled the P12… since there is already a bullpup shotgun called a P12 lets give it a new cooler name that it will here by be called..
Any Ideas guys?
I will have the factory lazer engrave all the bullpups for the USA market formally known as the P12 with the new much cooler name.. :8:
Reg? trust me… this thing doesnt need a reg… 😉
My :2cents: ; If it costs that much less than the EdGun it´s a bargain and it will sell in spades. Once it does there will be aftermarket regs for them and i quess they´ll soon regulate it from the factory once things get going. Performance out of the box ? There isn´t too many guns nowadays that do perform as expected out of the box , judging by the amount of issues and – especially – the amount of Fuxers around. I, for one , wouldn´t mind a gun that with some tinkering and extra investments shoots as well as the “high-end” Bullpups while costing a third of the price.
Bullpup´s are on the rise and only held back by the pricing. A cheap, good looking and OK functioning Bullpup will open the world of BP´s for those that want one but have no means to get into the game since the current ones are priced so high.
Whether that would have an effect on the EG/Cricket/BC future pricing remains to be seen but i don´t think it will. There´s always the one that pawed the Path and those who followed and that oftentimes just strengthens the Aura of them originals.
Whatever the Snow Peak does will not make it neither a Cricket nor an EdGun. BTW – “Snow Peak” sound gayish .. Was i to design a Weapon i wouldn´t name it Jean-Pierre .
Damn dman….you have some big balls to start taking about edguns…there’s a lot of hard core fans here that don’t take threats to their beloved gun likely….lmao…..
But I do see your point….the new p12 is probably going to be an entry level bullpup to those who cannot afford the overly priced edgun matador.
I guess only time will tell… The thing is this p12 from what I’m told is expected to have a price tag we’ll under 1000$. Somewhere in the 5-600 dollar range. Even if it don’t perform out of the box the best it sure looks like it has a lot of potential. Regulator?? The BSA lone star seems to do outstanding and it has no regulator. So let’s not count them chickens just yet
What ? Chickens hatched your friend ?? 😯 Exactly what kind of friends do you have ? 😀
Ok…I’ll bite. The P12 has yet to hit the masses…sure it may look like an Edgun but the verdict is still waiting on how it will shoot. Plus there is no regulator so have fun with the spread. AFAIK the only person who’s reported on the Raptor reported issues with the cooling reservoir not working as designed…he figured out a work around but still not working as designed. Unfortunately that gentleman has passed away so further updates are pending. I’m not a fanboy for either manufacturer’s but I’m not sure why you felt the need to put it out there that Ed and Tom will foresee an end to their success. Also the Shoebox is cheaper than the Raptor…it’s a simple design that can be repaired with common tools.
I’m not trying to pick any fights but I wouldn’t count my chickens until they hatch my friend.
