Q:

Loud TSS on low tank pressure

I decided to keep shooting my TSS down from 3,000 to 2,000 psi just to see how performance would drop off. Surprisingly, I could still drop a dove at 30 yards even at low pressure.

The bigger surprise was how loud the TSS got at lower tank pressure. I searched the forum and couldn’t find an explanation of this. I’m guessing that at lower pressure the hammer is holding the valve open longer and the excess air is making the loud bang?

Yup. And I’m guessing it’s more of a loud ‘pop’ as opposed to the ‘crack’ at the higher pressure.

Hey bro,
I got a TSS because they were supposed to be quiet, and backyard friendly. No so. I got a Subssonic insert and a get the bluejay short shroud. Both work great to quiet the TSS. Several other talented folk on TAG can hook you up as well. I don’t notice increased noise levels as the pressure goes down with these two devices.

to lower pressure valve is more open time and this produces more air outlet
