It quietenes it down a good bit. It’s just that with the wife being so sick, she sleeps a lot. And needs it. I try not to awaken her. So It needs to be a bit quiter. But it is perfect for woods walking. 😉
wow, that is some insert! Shouldn’t be too anemic with only a 21″ barrel. I was surprised at how much only four little plastic inserts made a difference when I attached that R&L shroud to my barrel. Did not have enough time to test it for accuracy. I will try it again when I get back out there. I am thinking that it will not have enough volume. Looks like yours is a larger od. The R&L’s OD is about equal to the AF frame id.

I have the breech end of the .257 barrel turned down to match Match Doug’s bigger od .257/308 valve. I tried an +adapter on the TH/stem on one of Doug’s super .25 valves simular to yours, but it gave me an air dump every 3rd shot.
The Airarcher valve mod would likely dump as well. Why I dont know. maybe the air is ballooning inside the larger OD breech and pushing the valve open?
At any rate it will not be much longer 😀

RC, Texas doesn’t allow the sale of any aerosol cans. All of the Texans were spraying the aerosol cans contents into a bag, putting the bag over their face and inhaling the contents. The practice is called “huffing”.
Those crazy Texans figured out that it cost a lot less to buy a cheap can of spray paint and a paper bag compared to what enough booze would cost to get them blotto.
The great state of Texas quickly put a stop to huffing, not only was it losing all of the tax revenue from the lost liquor sales, it had a whole state filled with huffed out people that had a CCW permit!
Mike, since you can’t paint the scope; try wrapping some black electrical tape around it.
I have an extra Hawke 4026 6.5-20 X 42 Tactical that I was going to trade you but, I saw that your scope only goes up to 14X and I don’t need a LOW POWERED scope!

That is why I use 20-1, it fills the molds better and as a result shoots far more accurate, although I find that past 615 yards the accuracy starts to decay some. 😛
That is a really nice looking gun there Mike, do they sell flat black spray paint in Tex ass for that cheap scope? I say cheap because they did not put any finish on it. 😉

I sht groups today with all kinds of different bullets. The spitzers from RJ did Very Well! 😀 😀 good Stuff RJ Bullets are!
Now, with my target paper all shot up, I didn’t bother to take pictures. I tried 6 different bullets and weights.
but when I retireved the paper from 85 yards, the NOE 80gr. flay points were just about as tight at 85 yards as the 257240 Lymans I pictured at 55 yards. They went .267 for a three shot group. This again, in typical Texas wind. It was easy to find the NOE’s impact points as the huge flat point makes for holes that look like they were made by a paper punch. Man, I like these NOE’s! :8:
Because of the larger holes, they actually looked tighter than the the smaller 55 yard 420 gropings . Looks can be decieving
