Loving the Condor Again….
Have had this bird since the year they came out and have had some work done to it. In .22 it was pretty accurate and so I ended up getting a .25 barrel for it and had Tony work his magic.
Accuracy was pretty good, though not what it was in .22. I ended up loaning out my .25 barrel for a while and recently got it back. During that time, the new JSB’s came out in .25 and I decided to give them a go today.
I hadnt shot them before out of this gun and wow… I think I am loving the Condor again. Inside 30 yards, easy one ragged hole groups. At 50 yards, groups could be covered by a nickel. Shot count is good on it and I am able to get a good 25 shots with little deviation.
Decided to chrony the JSB’s and they are flying out at around 1070fps…. need to turn it down just a hair more, but still… gotta love the accuracy here.
Thinking I’m going to put one of Tony’s adapters on this one and move the EtaC to another gun. Maybe give it some better glass and this one is finished!

Benj’s are 27.8 from what the data shows them to be… I do want to get a tin of them also to try as that is a weight that is somewhat different from the norm… Then if they shoot well its even better, because of the screw on lid 😆 😆 😆

Now on the weight of those pellets, I thought the JSB .25 was 25.4grs.
You may be shooting the Benj’s if they are the 27.8 grs.
I have been wanting to get some of the Benj’s to try them… I love the screw on lid they have on the tins, also… Much better and easier to open.
By the way, just what is the serial number on that rifle anyway???
Not sure where I pulled out the 27.4gr number from…outta my ass apparently, because I am shooting JSB’s.
Accuracy is good on it out to 55 yards, but I’ve not done past that yet. Gotta wait for warmer weather. I may have to give the Benji’s a go as well. I’ve heard good things about them.
I’ll have to look tonight on the SN, but it’s an early gun. I got it the same year the Condor came out, but I have had Tony work it over and it also has the upgraded valve in it from AF.

Dug up this post to see if I had included a chrony string and had not… so here it is. Shot a couple weeks ago.
As for the fellow asking about the stock… the grip was made by Fabian Centaro and I’m not sure he is in business any more. The forearm was a one off from a guy who used to post here under Bodisdad.
TT Condor .25 JSB’s at 27.4gr 3000psi fill. I may try a 3100 psi fill to get a bit more of a curve….

I think the secret to the one valve thing is to go with a lower than expected tophat…err to the side of the king on 0/0 and get that accurate…mine is around 975fps…then crank up the wheel to where the six ring hits dead on…I do it with a seven ring and a 2700 fill, tophat maxed… Of course 15+ shots later a ring slug will show poi drop, but for a hunting situation where you probably will be near the top anyways…its hard to beat…54fpe for the king and 99 for the 7 ring…same hole basically at 35 yards…same kill zone at 50yards…1.5 mils at 75…it CAN be done…

Is there a quick fill on the angle adapter, does the air pressure work the same, sounds like a good Christmas gift. It is hard to beat an Airforce rifle, the older guns I heard had alot of bugs to work out of them, glad you fixed her up, enjoy.

Rowdy… After reading results, I think I’ll leave em right where they are. Need to do a full string and see if I need to close down the TH a bit, but for now, it’s pretty well shut. I think I have the PW set at 8 or so…
Far as the adapter from Tony…. here she is… and looks really sharp!

I would not even think on slowing the JSB’s down man, that shoots really well in mine with a 18″ barrel. The one thing I have seen with the slower .25 caliber with the conventional diablo pellets has been the penetration and its effectiveness on the take down of the prey…
The larger diameter even though it has knocked the prey down here, has been the lack of, is the red mist affect,for lack of a better word LOL…
Got’a love that… By really pushing them 1025-1050 really makes a world of difference for my old bird and as yours, mine shoots really well there…
I have my top hat really cranked down close, I found that with the larger .25 I could do the same FPS and get more shots per/fill… Might have a look at that…
I didn’t know Tony had a bottle to frame adapter, you or anyone have a PIC or link to where I might could see these??? You have a really nice looker for that old of a Big Bird!!!
It might work for you. Depends on how much your valve is opened up. I had it working on 3000 fill for 6 rings PW 10 and 2400 fill PW 0 for JSBs. Then I tried to squeeze some more out for the 6 rings and that’s when the JSBs wouldn’t slow down until like 2000 psi fill.
Thanks for bursting my bubble 😆 I just thought I’d try this route. The reason I think the fill pressure might work is that when I shot groups with the heavy slugs on a 2900 psi fill pressure…I noticed that they became very sensitive (not as accurate) as my fill pressure dropped. But again, I could be reaching. There are other variables such as back pressure with the different weight slugs/pellets. I have a second tank already lying around. I may end up setting it up with a dedicated “hot rod” valve for the heavies after all. I’ll report my findings when I do the test.
Good luck. I tried to do that for someone. Got 6 rings to shoot 911 fps and with power wheel on 0 and 2400 psi fill it was still around 1100 fps. I finally told him it would be easier to get another tank. Fill pressure gets to be so low that shot count is effected.

You joke, but we both know that screw on lid makes a world of difference! haha.. nothing worse than having the tin spill out in your shooting bag or on the floor… or the tin gets a small dent and you try to pry it off and the pellets go flying 👿 I know with the smaller lids such as that, I have some holders of some type, made by H&N, but I’ve not seen such holders for the larger tins.
….and of course, I forgot the SN on the bird. As mentioned, it’s a first gen Condor, but with the new valve installed.
