Q:

Lttle ComTac Cricket fun

Got my Compact .22 synthetic yesterday from Wild West and it was a little frustrating because the aftermarket shroud (didn’t come from WWAG) was clipping badly and couldn’t get regular consistency.
These Compacts are LOUD. Whoever said they’re quiet is freaking deaf. It may be a matter of perspective but it’s blasting in my rezidenzia.

Well today it’s raining cold and blowing hard so I figured I can probably shoot out of my breezeway without anyone noticing. It was a little iffy zeroing the scope in on a stump at 25 yds but got r done. Anyway the wind blew a long pinky diameter Y branch down in front of the stump so I started cutting it into pieces with ComTac. I was laughing it was so damn accurate.

Also, it has a hard time sealing the probe and fills really fast. I’m thinking the second o-ring on the probe is compromised and needs replacing. Kind of wondering if they took the restrictor out of the new ones or something. Gotta say the filling doesn’t bother me, just surprised after reading about slow fills.

On the factory shroud on the compact is quieter then the .25. this after market shroud must have a larger through hole. did you order a after market shroud?

love the improvements on the new crickets, they have a wider clamps 1 1/8″ wide old was 3/4″, and now you can unscrew the trigger rail off, and the pistol grip has a bolt that screw on the trigger rail so the back end of the stock is more secure, and the whole waiver rail unscrew off, next week I will disassemble the firing valve and regulator and action to see if any change.

have fun shooting!

The aftermarket shroud is one of Neil’s and I emailed him yesterday and gonna send it back to him to check out.

That’s interesting about the clamps like scope tower clamps? If so it might be the .25s that are wider as mine is about 3/4 but plenty beefy as a one piece unit.
I was wondering about that pistol grip screw too so thanks. I’m really happy the cheekpiece is the synthetic also, it’s very comfy.

Now I was thinking this synthetic stock material reminds me of molded vinyl like car interiors with maybe plastic core.

Cognate on the new crickets !

I have found some probe that the oring groove was over cut, so the oring start leaking near 200b. proper oring groove is 4.00mm the ones that leak are around 3.94mm.

We and others told Calibrgun to fix the slow fill last year, I ended moding the fill screw to fill faster in my tunes, glade they listened.
