Mac1 Droopers on a Talon SS
I have a set of Mac1 Drooper mounts. The droopers worked great on my old R9 with barrel droop. Is there any benefit using these on my Talon SS?

I just tried my Mac1 droopers. The tri rail dovetail isn’t the right size. The droopers will not tighten down.

I have Mac1 droopers. They were the first set and best set of rings that went on my talon ss. It made scope adjustments easy and fine. And there seemed to be less little adjustment between shots scoped from 30 yards to 120 yards….than when I replaced the rings with standard ones for a larger scope.
The talon rails are kinda high when you measure the distance between the barrel and the scope….thus making droopers a good thing.
Logic is that scopes should be as low to the barrel as possible. Droops are one solution to high rails.
+1 for Mac1 droopers on a Talon.
The scope still have to point “downhill” but because the Talon doesn’t have a drooped barrel your scope’s elevation adjustment should be more than enough.
But it won’t hurt to use the drooper mount on your Talon if you want. It just means that most of your elevation adjustment will be done by the mount instead of the scope. Not a bad thing.
Hopefully the “droop” compensation isn’t so much that it cause you to have to raise your scopes internal elevation adjustment much, if at all.
Not really… unless your shooting short range and find yourself running out of vertical adjustment. Otherwise I’d keep them for another springer or sell them. Would be wasted on an SS.
I use leapers accushot 1 peice mounts on my SS and a few other guns and they work fine.

oh yeah. I forgot about that. That tri rail is heavy though.
I use quick release weaver rails on all my guns now so I can swap ’em easy.
